Maybe it's his hatred of whatever it is he hates, but there are literally dozens of stories that could be told. Think about it, the stories could span from the late 30's-up until the end of the Watchmen. There could be some great Roarschach, Comedian and Nit-Owl tales just waiting to be written. What do you guys think?

I dunno. This just seemed like something that should always stay what it is. I think it would just dilute the power the mini series had (and still has).

No need to mess with an already perfect mini series.
To add would be to take away, in a sense.

It kinda adds to the mystique. Just like I wish there were a couple more seasons of Arrested Development, but when I sit down and think about it, by season 4 of 5 it would have ran its course.

I. Just.
NO.
I love the Watchmen story, but there shouldn't be any more. I dont think Moore has lost his touch or anything, but I dont think you should f*** with something like Watchmen.

Could? Of course.
Should? smurf no.
Will? I highly doubt it.
Dark Knight 2 serves as a reminder of what happens when a great writer tries to revisit a beloved standalone story.

Miller's sequel is good. Not as great as THE DARK KNIGHT RETURNS, but it was decent.... ... UNTIL the climax with the revelation, and the aftermath...urgh.

Watchmen should stay as it is, which is perfect.

The only thing you could possibly do that wouldn't ruin the Watchmen is perhaps use Doctor Manhatten as a final big reveal in an epic DC story. (It would need to be well planned out and have Alan Moore as the main guy writing it though.)
As I would be kind of curious to know what a near god-like being has been up to since leaving Earth. (Afterall about life he did say 'Perhaps,, I'll create some)

Everything blamed on Suberboy Prime and all that, it all comes down to Doc. I would love one more story of Rorschach though, maybe it doesn't need to happen, but that character is too awesome. I would love to see meet Bruce Wayne, figure out he is Batman, call him a sissy socialist and tear his face off..

/\ but why? just because it sounds cool doesn't mean it makes a lick of sense (the Doctor Manhattan one). besides its not like DC doesn't already have Captain Atom flying around with god-like powers f***ing everything up anyway.
I think its better to leave the book alone in its own standalone reality with nothing to do with the rest of the comic omni-verse.

I'm glad he didn't. The story is all right there, complete in one package. Any more woulda been unnecessarily extraneous.

My line of thinking was more a long him being used in some other role or finding out what he did manage to achieve far in the future. Captain Atom is still a superhero at the end of the day, where as by the end of Watchmen I get the impression that Manhatten is going to go beyond superheroics or the worries of more simple lifeforms. There is potential there that could make one hell of a stand alone story.

Yes! By god, yes!
Not just sequels and untold tales, but make a cartoon of the characters! All Paul Dini-like! And crossovers! Crossovers with Liefeld characters! Nite-Owl vs. Shaft! Watchmen vs. Brigade!
And then retcon it all! Ultimate Watchmen! Bring it back in as the mysterious 53rd DC reality! Have the comedian show up in Gotham with no idea how he got there!

Look at what happened with Kingdome Come. Second volume was ruuuuubbish by comparison.
I say leave it as a five-star classic all by itself.

Actually, Rorschach and Deadpool would be freaking hilarious. AS for the Dr. Man thing, it is less about messing with Watchmen, and more wanting a decent story out of Dc's "this changes everything" story lines every damned year. If Dr. Man(and it has to be an established character outside DC continuity) was the one f***ing with things just because he doesn't give a shit about earth's piddly concerns, totally awesome.

Considering the way Watchmen ended, I am not so sure. add a few decades of watching humans and superheros do stupid things and I bet you get a bitter pissy Manhattan.

did you even get the ending?
if anything, he actually left the earth with a lot of faith in humanity, and wanted to see it improve. humans fascinated him, he even said he'd go make his own someday. sure he wasn't Gandhi or anything, but I think he was a wee bit more optimistic than that, omnipotence or not.
