For all you guys who make DVD that you can watch on a standard DVD player, what program(s) do you use? I need to free up some space on my hard drive(I have tons of movie projects on there). One that makes nice menus is a plus, but not needed.

Sony vegas DVD architect is good for the creation process (Menu, chapter etc) & nero for actual burning to disk
Doesn't take up as much space as you think

I've got Ulead VideoStudio 11 Plus. The DVD menus are quite blocky.

I used Sonic DVD maker, or Ulead. You may wanna try a free trial of Vegas or something and burn everything before it runs out

You should google the term DVD burner programs. One result should take you to a page where there is a lot of programs and it explains the process.

I've always used Nero, myself. Not a lot as far as menus go.... they'll end up ugly as shit, but I've had the best luck with the least amount of write errors with that program.

For ISOs and TS files, CloneDVD is very nice. For menus and chapters, Nero is likely the way to go.

I guess I had Roxio 6 on my computer buried some where.
now I have a question. I have 4 video files, each about 45-50 minutes long, that I want to put them on 1 disk. When I click on the folder they're in, it says the size is only 1.36 GB, but then when I open them in Roxio, it says its over 9 GBs.
Is that normal?

Did you have the files in .wmv?

That's because when the DVD burns, it converts all the video files to VOB files, which allow them to be readable in external DVD players. VOB files are much larger than WMV, AVI, and most MPG files.

You're welcome.
BTW, I use Nero 7 to burn my DVDs. The menus aren't great, and the program isn't perfect, but it's completely usable and easy to learn.
