Anyone else read this? More Moore/O'Neil goodness, and it's weird how much they're able to cram in, as you've got comics, text pieces, novelesque excerpts, and the whole last bit in 3D.
Two thumbs.

I heard the book is only for people who are really into literature as the actual dossier is VERY heavy on literature references.

In fact, I think that was the idea in the first place, considering all the main characters are from legendary(and amazing) novels. Basically, it is a who's who of Romantic Period characters. If only they included Victor Frankenstein or his monster in the main cast of good guys. And all the characters are more faithful to their novel versions than the film versions were. Yes, Dorian is a douche in both the film and comics, just like in the novel. But really, I say individual novels the characters came from > League of X Gentlemen(Graphic Novels) >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LXG(Movie).

ah, so Moore DOES pay attention to "his" movies, even if he didn't watch it.

The Black Dossier was absolutely fantastic, an amazing experiment in pretty much every possible form of writing. Moore seems to really be out to prove that he can write in any format - and he can. I think my favourite part was the "HOWL"-esque Beat writing. Awesome... although the Shakespearean prose was phenomenal. I hear that they're even going to release a new version with an LP.
That said, it can be a tough read and is not as easily linear as the previous two volumes. Still, it would be an amazing read to dissect in a University course.

I got this for christmas and while it's once again a very good read, I did get a little turned off by the heavy text at first. But when I sat down and really took the time to read it, I ended up liking it.
Plus now I don't think I'll ever be able to look at James Bonds again...

I forgot which volume(as I was just reading one of the volumes for fun in my school library during lunch one day) and I just saw them. Honestly, I was shocked to find them myself, as I knew they weren't in the first volume at all.
