Today, while getting gas, I was trying to back up to a gas pump. I opened my door and stepped out to see i I was close enough and forgot to put it into park. Needless to say, it started backing up and the open door caught itself onto some kind of... cement thing near the pump. Damn near pulled the door off the frame. So here is my situation:
I have a broken door on my car. Wont even close.
Our family is already having financial problems. we dont even have enough to pay all of our bills.
My car was my way to get to school. Now I cant use it.
Will cost lots and lots of money that we dont have to fix (in the thousands).
I dont have a job (I've applied to all the places I can, but since the area is so overpopulated, I cant get anything. Even Walmart denied me).
So... What do you think I should do?

1. Give me the uncensored version of your sig. 2. Find out if you can take a bus/ride from friends. 3. Don't give up looking for a job.

Go back to that same gas station and see if you can use the cement thing to push your door back into place.
If it works, then that's awesome. If it doesn't, well ... you were gonna need a new door anyway, right?

My thoughts: Do you have a junkyard around your area? You can find places that have doors just like the one you destroyed for a lot less money. Also, do you have anyone in the family that knows anything about automotives? If so, talk to them, and see if they can't help you out from shelling out so much money.
Hope this helps.

since ive not seen the door im not sure just how damaged it is, but if its still attached to the car id imagine its repairable without too much difficulty? so i would take it to a mechanic place that does free quotes, and get a quote on it because you might be surprised how cheap it is, especially if you talk to them like you know what youre talking about, so if you have a friend who knows alot about cars it would be a better idea to let them take it in for you, and if it is too expensive then dont bother with them and dont let them pressure you into letting them fix it, alot of those kinds of places will give you a quote and then go ahead with the work without reminding you that you have the option to say no and take your car home
in the case that it is horribly expensive, then as someone said go to a wrecker type of place where you can get a door for infinitely cheaper than any other way, but then youll probably still need to go to a mechanic for installation, so the above mentioned friend will still come in handy there, but if you have a friend of a friend/relative whos a mechanic then that would be even better
if fall else fails then get yourself a bus schedule

Close it as far as possible and weld it shut. Sure, you'll have to get in like the Dukes, but your door will be closed.

My question is why the heck did you have to get out of your car to see how close you were? Couldn't you have just stuck your head out the window or open the door and look back and check? And unless you were 30 feet away most gas hoses reach. And how far did you let it roll before you jumped back in?? Did you just stare at it and go "hmmmmm I think it's rolling". Did you leave it in drive? Is this gas station built on a hill? And how did it hit some "cement thing"? Obviously you were close enough to the pump for it to do that. And who the hell "backs up" to a gas pump LOL?
Sorry but this makes me laugh.

Sell the car and buy a scooter. That way there are no doors for you to f-up.
Oh, if your family is that strapped, you don't need the internet.
And your car insurance should pay for it, even if it is your fault.
