Celtics and Spurs. Boston's only lost three games: Twice by 2 points (Orlando + Detroit), and once in OT. They're that close to being undefeated.

Let the Spurs fly under the radar again. That's just the way we like it.

East Finals: Pistons vs. Celtics
West Finals: Spurs vs. Mavs
NBA Finals: Pistons vs. Spurs
NBA Champions: Pistons.
Yep.

Spurs
Because when everybody is talking about others teams and ignoring the Spurs... they always end up winning.

I'd say the Pistons have the best shot. I think they have the most depth, which is what a top team needs.
Of course, the only team that would be able to beat them is DA BULLS! ;D

Spurs.
All they do is win. Plus, they're 4-0 in the Finals.

Spurs.
Wanna say Pistons, but while they're still successful...there's still something missing if they wanna compete with the West.
- Celtics are a juggernaut, but after seeing how easily the Mavs fell last season I'll take a pass. - Suns...I love you, but as long as Gregg Poppovich and Tim Duncan are breathing, they own you. - Mavs (see Suns. 2006 was what I call a once in a blue moon moment) - Cavs (see 2007 Finals)

As a Celtics fan, I'd like to say the Celtics. But I'm going to wait until they have to complete the Texas Three-Step before I can confidently put all of my eggs in the Celtic basket.
So for now, I'll say the defending champion Spurs.

I don't know why everyone is saying the Spurs. Haven't you figured it out yet???
They only win in odd years. This is 2008, which means no title for San Antonio.
1999, 2003, 2005, 2007.
It's not a coincidence anymore.

Boston, for all the "GAWD I HATE BOSTON!" shit talk that surrounds them, is looking legit. Lets see if they hold up. Personally, I think they will because KG will scary the everloving shit out of the entire team. They'll be afraid to fail him. Like, afraid for their lives afraid.
San Antonio would be my favorite/pick but it *appears* the injury bug might be biting them. Time will tell how it plays out.
Detroit is, well, turning into San Antonio East.
My team, Da Bulls, are starting to get hot...but, they're a streaky jump shooting team. You can't be a streaky jump shooting team and go far in the playoffs.
Golden State, if they hold their shit together, could be a dark horse.
You gotta respect Phoniex as long as Steve Nash continues to breath.
Soooooooooooooo.....after all that i'll go with: Eastern Conference Champ; Boston (in a classic Conference Final 7 game war against Detroit)
Western Conference Champion; The Suns (revenge is a dish best served at 175mph)
NBA Champion; The Suns.

Every year I pick my beloved Suns to win and they keep coming up short. So this year I'm going for ..... The Suns.

Even with the Cowboys having such a great regular season, and the Red Sox winning the World Series, I think KG coming to Boston has been the thing that's made me the most excited. Not since Bird has this team had a player that can do so many things, and do them so well. Shooting, passing, defense, rebounding... the guy does it all. And all the intensity this guy has seems to shed onto the other players. And you're right, the other players are probably too scared or frightened to fail. KG just won't let it happen.

I'm going to go with the Celtics.
They're off to the best start since the 95-96 Bulls and I believe the last 6 or 7 teams that have done as bad ass as them won the Championship (except for the early 90's Trail Blazer's team who lost to the Bulls, if I remember right.) I normally don't buy into stats like that, but it's pretty convincing.
KG is a beast, Pierce has still got it, and Allen is doing pretty good himself. They're all championship hungry and I don't think anyone could best them in 7.

So nobody but me, the homer, will pick the Mavs!
We've already downed the Warriors twice this year, including blowing them the smurf out last night. I think were better then the Suns so far this year and could probably beat the Spurs. Plus, everybody knows Dirk owns KG. The last 7 years dont lie.
I still want a trade to be made though. But who to bring, hmmm.
Oh I know, how bout that guy in my sig.

Every year I pick my beloved Suns to win and they keep coming up short. So this year I'm going for ..... The Suns. I admire your optimism. And I noticed you're from England. After the Suns' latest elimination, I made a thread comparing the Suns run at an NBA title to England's run at a World Cup. Don't mean it as an insult. They're both teams with plenty of talent, but missing some intangibles that would help them win the big one.

Because they are coached by Avery Johnson and he KNOWS how to learn from last year's mistakes. Championship Finals - Pistons/Mavs Esp since I don't want it to be PIstons/Spurs so I can hear how "boring" it would be. PSH
