I'm thinking about getting this game because it basically describes itself in the title.
it's dynasty warriors, but with gundams!
I remember watching gundam wing and liking it, although now I can't remember a damn thing about the complicated war with in the universe other then a key point in the show involved children piloting the mobile suits.
anyhow back to the game. does anyone here have it? I heard some good things about it (basically it's the only good gundam console game) and some bad things (dynasty warriors hasn't improved at all). also what are the AP's like >_>

My friend has it and we've played through a good bit of the game...I think it's an absolute blast, but I'm a Gundam nerd so I would.
Honestly I think it's better than the rest of the Dynasty Warriors series. It's just loads of fun.

Well, I thought Gundam v. Zeta Gundam didn't suck. And I thought both Gundam Battle Assaults rocked.
I see no reason for ths game to be bad.

I haven't played it but I vaguely remember a review that said it was horrible. Of course, that was only one person's opinion alot of the reviews are saying that they didn't really improve the dynasty warriors gameplay. I kinda figured that'd be the case.

I think damn near every game should have a companion version in the style of Dynasty Warriors. There is nothing, Nothing, NOTHING cooler than running into the middle of 100 enemies and slaughtering them all in no time.

I see no reason for ths game to be bad. there was a gundam fighting game made a while back that I heard wasn't bad. That'd probably be Gundam Battle Assualt 3. They used the storyline of Gundam Seed. it was really fun to play. I've played Gundam Dynasty Warriors and it's loads of fun. The specials fit the suits. (ZZ gundam slashs with beam sabers, then fires a giant beam for about 5 seconds. Epyon does a lot of slashing, and then a final charge through the enemys). Overall, it's decent, and you'd probably like it.

I love it, but then again, I'm a huge Gundam mark and loved that EVERY MAIN CHARACTER FROM ALL THE SERIES IS IN IT! That, and they all have their voice actors from the dubbed anime! w00t! It basically is a wet dream for Gundam fans.

I got Gundam Battle Assualt 2 for PS1. I love that game to death, but I only really with the G-Gundam characters, and the Wing Characters. But I hate fighting Domon's brother in the final battle in the G-Gundam storyline in the game.

well, I played some of it at my friend's house and I like it. The only problem is the hacking and slashing gets very repetitive after a while and veteran DW fans will find the game too slow for their taste. Really a game for the hardcore gundam fans. I just wish by the time 00 comes out here we get the option of buying the series gundams on the XBL service or something..

I may have to check this title out. I got hooked on one of the Dynasty Warriors games (I can't remember which one) and would play that one for hours on end. And a version with Gundams in it instead of ancient Chinese warriors sounds like it's worth a playing.

I bought this game on release day, I've pretty much beaten it, but I enjoyed the game thoroughly. While it's true they have MOST of the dub voices in the game ,Heero and Domon's orginal VAs are not present, and this is especially noticeable for Domon whenever he switches to "intense voice".
Also I enjoyed the "Original Mode" which is a lot like "Marvel vs. Capcom with Gundams" in that all the universes collide, leading to some funny moments (play through Domon's campaign in that and you'll see what I mean). Also this is probably one of the few Gundam games to "get it right" in terms of being faithful to the TV series, because most of those involved one Gundam destroying the crap out of whole armies.
There are a couple downsides, which may only be downsides to me due to being a complete Gundam nerd.
My first complaint is the lack of playable mobile suits and characters. Granted if this had been a total conversion of a Dynasty Warriors game we probably would've gotten every relevant mobile suit pilot from all the series included and even more convoluted (at times) battles, but I think the real problem was excluding everyone out of Gundam Wing save for Heero. Maybe it's because I really liked Heavy Arms, maybe it's because I feel excluding 4 somewhat unique Gundams from this game is a bad idea, but it feels somewhat lacking at times. Also this sounds really silly but since I'm such a mark for all the mass production suits I would've liked the ability to play as some of them (because all the suits seem to have some level of special attack)
My other complaint is the choice of series that went into this. Turn A Gundam is definetely the odd series out, even my fellow Gundam nerd at school who has the game had no clue about the series, and much time was spent debating whether or not Loran Cehack was actually a guy or not (granted I knew the answer, but that was thanks to MAHQ). Of course on the inverse side there really aren't that many other series besides SEED that made it to the states...and SEED is just the Universal Century all over again for the most part.
But all in all I definetely would say the hardcore Gundam fans enjoy it more than others will

Boring, and its not just the Dynasty Warriors becoming tiresome. There is something missing from it. Maybe it is Dynasty Warriors just becoming old, somewhat similiar games like God of War series and Conan just offer so much more play control.

well now I do indeed have it, and I have to say I do agree with some of the reviews of the game.
the story is extremely confusing if you're not a gundam fan. but hey what can you do.
