Yeah, maybe they should have the ability to unlock different announcers...

How did Mario win? Since Samus maimed everyone with that mega blast?
Dammed Mario holding everyone down.

Yeah, maybe they should have the ability to unlock different announcers... I'd mark for a random spanish announcer, but only if the Spanish Announcer table then becomes an item

JR announcing it would be awesome.

MasterpiecesWell, what do we have here... Yes, that’s Super Mario Bros. Several memorable characters compete for brawl supremacy—that’s Super Smash Brothers Brawl in a nutshell. But what about the past fights for each of those characters? What were they like? It may sound impossible, but you can experience those battles in Brawl as well! That’s right, for the first time ever, you can play trial versions of these games by the miracle of Virtual Console! That’s what Masterpieces is! Here you can relive the greatest battles of the biggest star characters through demo versions of their games. Here are some of the titles you can expect to see available in Brawl. Crazy, isn’t it?! Ice Climber (1985, NES) Super Mario Bros. (1985, NES) The Legend of Zelda (1987, NES) Kid Icarus (1987, NES) Kirby’s Adventure (1993, NES) Super Metroid (1994,Super NES) Star Fox 64 (1997, Nintendo 64) Whoaaa. Makes my head spin just seeing all those. You won’t need to be connected with Nintendo WFC to play these games. Just remember, there are some NES classics in there as demos, so expect some of the time limits on those games to be so short that all you can do is laugh at how hard they are. I’m almost...to the top! Ahaha! Oh man, out of time already?! That’s what a good demo is all about. It gives you just enough to let you appreciate the game. Plus it’s a lot of fun to see just how far you can go before the little time that you have runs out. If you take a liking to one of the trial versions, you can always buy the full game through the Shop Channel! You might even find a couple titles that divert your attention from Brawl for a while. Some titles come with save data. But hmm, it seems there are still titles hiding in the Masterpieces section. Titles?! What games don’t I know about?! That discovery is part of the fun, isn’t it? Masterpieces are called masterpieces for good reason, and each of the well loved characters here come from a past that is worthy of that title. To end, I’d like to take this opportunity to send my thanks to all the game creators and affiliated parties who helped in making this possible. --------------------------------------------------------------------- two that were on the Japan site only: Fire Emblem Earthbound

The demos are really awesome. I wonder how long they do last.
But what really interested me was the little tidbit in Iwata Asks where Sakurai talked about writing the storyline for Subspace Emissary with Kazushige Nojima. Was this announced before or is this new information? Because if it was in the dojo when Subspace Emissary was announced I must have forgot.
That's just awesome.

Wait a second...so, these trials are in the game, or they're somehow available through the VC...
...Seems like a waste of disc space to me.

Seems like a good way to get people a little better acquainted with the characters, especially the lesser known ones like Pit and Ice Climbers.

Wait a second...so, these trials are in the game, or they're somehow available through the VC... ...Seems like a waste of disc space to me. The trials are playable right off of the disc but I wouldn't call them a waste of space. Old games really don't take up much space at all on a disc, especially considering all the emulation software is built-in to the hardware. Also, the character select screen may or may not have been inadvertently shown in this video...Here's the screenshot... Here's who I can figure out.... Row 1: Bowser Jr., Mario, Luigi, Peach, Bowser, Yoshi, Zelda/Sheik, Link, Midna, Ganondorf, Wind Waker Link Row 2: Captain K. Rool, Donkey Kong, Diddy Kong, ?, Samus, Dark Samus, Pokemon Trainer, Pikachu, Lucario, Jigglypuff, Mewtwo Row 3: Wolf (Star Fox), Fox, Kristal (Star Fox), Meta Knight, Kirby, Dedede, Wario, Ashley (From Warioware games), Ike, 2 other people from Fire Emblem Games Row 4: Sonic, Mr. Game & Watch, Pit, Ice Climbers, Captain Falcon, Black Shadow (F-Zero), Ness, Lucas, , Captain Olimar, and Solid Snake. There's a good chance this is all fake, but the video has got me skeptical on that point. I guess we'll all find out soon enough.

I think that first is Ridley, since they seem to be grouping characters from different franchises together. The second ... I'm not sure. I think it may be another chracter from Earthbound.

Guys, this screams fake to me. I think they have probably finalized their rosters by now, and unless Sakurai and Nintendo drop a bomb on us, there will be no more added. A shame, but remember that someone did a rather convincing fake roster for Super Smash Bros. Melee about 7 years ago.

Falco and Dr. Mario were 2 of my favorite characters if that list is true and they're gone. Goddammit!
Midna? I like Twilight Princess and all, but seriously WTF? At least give us Link as a dog. What next? Tingle??
Windwaker Link.....f*** you Nintendo!
Of course we get that girl Fox, who just absolutely makes Star Fox look like the most biggest pussy in the Lylat system.
Bowser Jr? WTF? At least give us someone from the Mario games who's SOMEWHAT more enjoyable to play as.
Ashley? I'll be using her as a beating bag in the game, who'd want to kick ass looking like that?
Lucario seems like the most random pick of all. Considering the new Pokemon games suck ass and all.
It might be BS, but if that is the final cut...I'm kinda pissed.

It's probably fake, but do you really think that the characters announced on the SSB:B page are the only people in the game? I mean, do you really think they'd do another Smash without including Luigi?

First off, the second in the picture is Masked Man, AKA Lucas twin brother Claus. Second, Ashley has already been deconfirmed, as she was seen in the background of the Warioware stage. The cake picture is a lie.

Looks convincing enough, but this just screams fake to me too. Midna is where I started getting skeptical.
