A co-worker and I thought up a dream-stage idea when we first heard about Brawl.
It would be based off of Tetris, in which the players are fighting around falling blocks.
Players could hit the blocks to change their positions.
Whenever a row was solved, all players standing on it take 10% damage per row solved and are propeled upward.
But if you make and active effort to make sure that the puzzle never solves, the stage progressively shrinks until there is no room left and all the players are knocked off the screen due to lack of space, at which point the stage resets to no blocks and play continues.

I like it, but unfortunately Nintendo doesn't actually own Tetris. This thing has already got to be costing Nintendo a fortune to develop, what with Snake and Sonic already licensed and the size of the game overall, so I doubt we'll see any more non-Nintendo franchises represented.

I for one liked the Zelda 2 stage and am glad to see it back, even though it can be frustrating as hell.
also since no on else mentioned it that music is awesome... almost makes me want to dig out my Adventures of Link Cartridge... or go on my Wii and buy it again for the VC at the very least.

Im guessing that one of the stages coming back is the first Pokemon Stadium stage. I mean think about it, why else would they name the other one Pokemon Stadium 2 if it was going to be the only Pokemon Stadium stage?

Tomorrow was to be the release date in America. Anyone think it'll play a factor when the clock hits 2?

Hopefully all these lackluster updates will lead to a rather impressive one early tomorrow. Since, as noted, it's the six year anniversary of Melee's release in the 'states.

Actually, it was noted that tomorrow was supposed to be Brawl's release date until it was postponed to February.

OK, here's a question I pose to you all: Nintendo's obviously plunked down a LOT of money to get this game perfect. Do you think it'll be worth it for them? In layman's terms, will they end up making a profit from it?

In layman's terms, will they end up making a profit from it? The only way that it won't make a profit is if that they don't sell more Wii's, and by the time SSBB hits, there will still likely be a shortage.

So unless the English site adds something, todays update is about the friends list.

www.smashbros.com/en_uk/gamemode/wi-fi/wi-fi03.htmlFriend List The Wii console includes a function called Wii Friends, but you will register a separate list of Smash friends. That’s your Friend Code in the top-right. Please exchange these numbers with your friends. Write a note, do it over the phone, or send it by e-mail – just share your numbers with each other. Then input your friend’s Friend Code. Once you’ve both input your codes, it’ll look something like this. Oh! It comes with comments. You can enter your own icon and comments. This is where you enter your short taunt messages. The preparation ends there. After this, you won’t have to do it every time. So, let’s play a game! In that case, someone has to enter someone else’s game. The person who will host creates a room. Everyone can see the status of people on their Friend Roster. You can see if they’re online or hosting a match. If you want to play together, just select that person’s name and choose OK! Join someone who is hosting a match. Once all participants select OK... ...you can play. Yep. Simple. Simple is best. By the way, the circle at the top-right of your Friend Roster approximates the connection quality of your last connection. The closer it is to blue, the smoother you’ll be able to play.

When I read that I just get this image of Steve Jobs up on stage over hyping the addition of some convenience the competitor has had since day one.

I don't mind Friend Codes. People seem to hate it with a passion and its hilarious to read reaction to this update. What I'm more upset about is we get something not exciting on the old US release date. Anyone know the Japan original release date?

I love how people complain about this. They clamor and clamor for Online and then when they find it's friend codes (like they're expecting something else, they whine.) I saw someone sa something to the effect off "We should just face it. Nintendo thinks we're all pedophiles"
Overreact much?
