As far as showing your friend matches that will "wow" them, allow me to throw one out that surprisingly I haven't seen listed -Kurt Angle vs. Shane McMahon (King of the Ring 2001, I believe) The only time I can ever remember hoping that a match get stopped because I thought one of the wrestlers was going to permanently injure himself, or worse. It's a simple match that has enough spots in it to keep someone who doesn't watch a lot of wrestling entertained throughout. That is a GREAT match to show someone who isn't currently a fan. Probably one of the best examples of mixing hardcore with some decent technical wrestling.

In no particular order:
1992 Royal Rumble Flair v. Steamboat (WrestleWar '89) Bret v. Austin (WM 13) Tully Blanchard v. Magnum TA (Starrcade 1985) HBK v. Shelton (Raw 2005) Benoit v. Michaels v. HHH (WM 20) Pillman v. Liger (Nitro 95) Bret v. Owen (WM X) Bret v. Perfect (Summerslam 91) Flair v. Sting (Clash of the Champions 1)

Yeah, I'd agree with those who would say that if you want matches to turn someone on, it shouldn't necessarily be the "best" matches, but matches that would show a variety and appeal more.
If it were me, I'd pick some of the most fun matches I could find, including something like Shane/Angle. Put in the Austin/Rock 'Mania match, a TLC match, throw in a rumble (Myself, I'd say either '93 or '00) and some other short matches. Who ever suggested clips of moments had a great idea as well.
And put in some promos too, like one of the Rock/Jericho ones. Anything that makes lighter of it would convince me a lot more than something that takes it too seriously.
Also, if the person is a non-fan, and I may catch some heat for this, I'd avoid putting Benoit on, at least in the first introduction to it. While he's had good matches, if you want to introduce someone to it, it'd be best to try to avoid anyone who carries a negative outside connotation until later.

Hi please help me I would like to know what are the top 10 wrestling matches of all time? The reason is that I would like to show some wrestling matches to a friend of mine (who doesn't watch wrestling at all) and I want to show him that wrestling is cool lol. But I can't really choose the top 10 myself because I didn't watched every ppv. I'm thinking about making a DVD compilation. I was thinking about: Mankind vs Undertaker (KOTR 98)... If you look past Foley's willpower, Mankind vs Undertaker (KOTR 98) isn't exactly a great match. There was nothing technically astounding about it. If you can justify the inclusion of this match based on how much one wrestler sacrificed in order to entertain his fans, may I suggest "Sick" Nick Mondo vs Zandig at CZW's 2nd Tournament of Death? Mondo literally defied death in a particularly horrific high spot, and went on to win the tournament. Thankfully, he was smart enough to realize that there was nothing he could do to top the moment, so he retired from wrestling after winning the tournament. Anyway, here are classic matches that I recommend: 1) Bret Hart vs Roddy Piper - WWF Wrestlemania 8 2) Ric Flair vs Ricky Steamboat - WCW Spring Stampede 94 3) Necro Butcher vs Samoa Joe - IWA-MS Something to Prove 4) Bret Hart vs Owen Hart (Cage Match) - WWF Summerslam 94 5) Team Ultraviolence (Zandig, Nick Gage, Wifebeater, Ian Knoxx, Lobo and Mystery Partner) vs. The Hi-V (Messiah, Trent Acid, Johnny Kashmere, B-Boy, Nate Hatred & Adam Flash) - CZW Cage of Death 5 6) Razor Ramon vs Shawn Michaels (Ladder match) - WWF Wrestlemania 10 7) Bret Hart vs Steve Austin - WWF Wrestlemania 13 8) Chris Benoit vs Shawn Michaels vs HHH - WWF Wrestlemania 20 9) Rob Van Dam vs Jerry Lynn - ECW Hardcore Heaven 99 10) Mike Awesome vs Masato Tanaka - WWECW One Night Stand 2005 11) Sabu vs Taz - ECW Barely Legal 97 12) RVD + Sabu vs Hayabusa + Jinsei Shinzaki - ECW Heat Wave 98

Definately show him a rumble match. I'd say 1992, as it tells an amazing story with flair, and has plenty going on all the way through for entertainment

Angle/Rock/Taker from Vengeance 02 You just have to show him that one. Sensational match I completely agree with this... The match itself isn't a technical showcase but it was just such an entertaining bout, what with all the false finishes and everybody doing each other's finisher... The beginning bit with Rock and Taker having a stare-off, leaving Angle to try and get their attention was hilarious. Also... Rock vs. Austin - Wrestlemania 17 Rey Mysterio vs. Eddie Guerrero - Halloween Havoc '97 Bret Hart vs. Mr. Perfect - Summerslam '91 RVD vs. Jerry Lynn - ECW Living Dangerously Undertaker vs. Kurt Angle - Vengeance '06 Rock vs. Mankind "I Quit Match" - Royal Rumble '99 Do Fixer vs. Blood Generaton - Supercard of Honor (3/31/06)Shawn Michaels vs. Razor Ramon "Ladder Match" - Summerslam '95 Undertaker vs. Batista - Wrestlemania 23 Hardyz vs. Edge & Christian "Ladder Match" - No Mercy '99 Undertaker vs. Ric Flair - Wrestlemania 18 Vince McMahon vs. Hulk Hogan - Wrestlemania 19 Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels - Unbreakable '05 I can still keep going, but these are all obviously put in here due to their different contributions to the wrestling industry as a whole.
