Seeing as we have quite a few people interested in doing this, I thought I'd leave it up to you how the game is played. I had my own idea, and then the ROH board's way of doing things. Whichever wins this poll is the way the game will be run through this year. I'll close voting at 2 on Sunday. The first game will be up Monday for people to make their picks.
Option 1 - The ROH Board Way
A more simplistic version of confidence picks. Say the show you're making your picks for is a six match card. You make your picks, and assign a number between 1-6 to each based on how confident you are in your pick. So for example, say you had Chris Hero vs. Mitch Franklin, and Rocky Romero vs. Jimmy Jacobs as two matches. I think everyone knows what's going to happen in Hero/Franklin, so you'd take Hero and assign 6 points to the pick. Jacobs/Romero is more of a toss up. If you were very unsure about the pick, you'd take your guy (I'll say Jacobs) and assign 1 point to him. If you were a little more confident in that choice you could used 2 or 3 or so on and so on. At the end your submission for the show should look like this:
Hero(6)
Pick(5)
Pick(4)
Pick(3)
Pick(2)
Jacobs(1)
Option 2 - MGH Way
Let's take the same six match card. Instead of going down the line assigning points in order, you'd be given a set amount of points to be used as you see fit. Thiese aren't the final numbers, as I have details to work out should this option win, but let's say the number of points available was 70. 20 being the maximum you could put on any match, and 5 being the minimum. So your final submission in that case should look like a variation of one of these:
Hero(20)
Pick(15)
Pick(15)
Pick(10)
Pick(5)
Jacobs(5)
Hero(15)
Pick(15)
Pick(15)
Pick(10)
Pick(10)
Jacobs(5)
Hero(20)
Pick(20)
Pick(15)
Pick(5)
Pick(5)
Jacobs(5)
Not every pick would have to be with fives, it's just how I made the examples.
So, vote away. Either Monday or Tuesday I'll have the Pick Um thread up for the Boston/Edison doubleshot complete with details!
