Here is a quote from the Comic Book Guy and Bart Simpson.
CBG: Last night's Itchy & Scratchy was, without a doubt, the worst episode ever. Rest assured I was on the internet within minutes registering my disgust throughout the world. Bart: Hey, I know it wasn't great, but what right do you have to complain? CBG: As a loyal viewer, I feel they owe me. Bart: What? They're giving you thousands of hours of entertainment for free. What could they possibly owe you? I mean, if anything, you owe them. CBG: Worst episode ever.
Can this be applied when we complain about TNA and the WWE?

Yes, yes, and yes. WWE, TNA, Wrestling as a whole, entertainment, celebrities, pseudo-celebrities, etc etc etc.
But to be fair, nowadays, it applies to most everything. Many people have unreasonable entitlement complexes. They feel like everyone is in debt to them simply because they exist.

But they only give it to us for free so that we will buy their Pay Per Views...and DVDs...and tickets...and cable channel...and CDs...and clothing and accessories...and the products of their sponsors such as fruity delicious delicious fruity fruity Skittles.
If you're a casual fan who watches the TV shows because it's on, and that's the extent of your fandom, then the Itchy & Scratchy deal applies. But if you buy PPVs and T-shirts, or subscribe to 24/7, or take your kids to every house show that comes through town and spend $300 on tickets and merch and gas for the car; then, yes, WWE owes you a good product if they want your dollars. If they don't deliver, then we can simply watch snippets of the shows and hope it becomes good again before investing more time and money.
Bart Simpson? Meh. I prefer Orwell, myself: My booking, solid or crap, is the same as my mother, sober or drunk.

But they're not forcing us to watch or to invest money on WWE/TNA/whatever.
If I choose to attend an house show next month, I know what I can and what I can't expect. Same goes for a DVD or for a PPV.
It makes no sense spending 200-300$ on a trip to the next RAW and then complaining because the women's match was awful, Orton's promo was boring, Vince took a lot of airtime and Triple H, HBK and Jeff Hardy had the same "routine" match...
We may be paying customers [I'm not but still...] but unless they falsely advertise something and then it doesn't happen, we have little right to complain if we don't like what we watch.
And the old "stop watching. seriously, stop!" policy works wonders, I'm told...

No you don't. You pay money in exchange for a seat to a sporting event. End of transaction. Never once have you signed a check to an athlete.

We may not directly pay to watch a show like Raw, but we pay. I spent several hundred dollars going to Wrestlemania last year. I buy WWE video games (which aren't even that good anymore). I buy DVD's and T-shirts. I buy tickets to live events and TV shows. I bought many PPV's over the years. I purchase WWE music CD's. My point is that yes WWE provides many hours of entertainment, but it didn't come free to me.

I find myself wondering if it was really Bart Simpson holding a conversation like that...
Lisa sure, but Bart would have thrown in an "Eat my Shorts"
