Crappy wrestling promotion run by Rob Black in California. They thought they were ECW, but in reality, they were just crap. Of course thats just my opinion. No, thats pretty much everbody's opinion Agreed; the opinion pretty much constitutes the official consensus on XPW, but some (like myself) argue that although the promotion may have sucked, a handful of talented wrestlers did emerge from XPW, such as Messiah, Alter Boy Luke, and Angel the hardcore Homo. Basically, XPW ended up being the 'crappy garbage promotion' that WWF fanboys blindly accused ECW of being.

I thought The Juice was kinda funny Definitely, but Juvi and all the other cruiserweights who left ECW as it unfolded were basically in the wrong place at the wrong time. And in spite of their talent, most of their XPW matches were unimpressive.

I think it was a promotion run by Jimmy Hart in the South. It was somewhat like TNA. Oh wait, that was XWF.

I know that I'm in the minority here, but I loved pre-"Hostile Takeover" XPW. Yes, it was (if I may quote Larry Rivera here) "violent crap," but it was fun violent crap. THANK YOU~! It was bad, but I found it amusingly bad.

I heard years of bad things about XPW, but still bought the DVD season #1.
It was awful, I would rather watch a sex tape featuring Janet Reno and half the members of Jefferson Airplane.
When I went to return it, they tried to give me my money back, but I said please just keep it.

Other than Johnny Webb and Shane Douglas' WCW shoot and Terry Funk slicing his arm in half, XPW sucked ass nuggets.
Plus they had a commentator who hardly speaked english and the tv dvd gave me constipation.

Don't forget the time XPW tried to crash the ECW Heatwave pay-per-view. <3

That first line had me laughing, also here's one XPW moment that I'm sure has been seen before, Angel "The Hardcore" Homo falling maybe 20 feet to the floor, and surprisingly not killing himself in the process: www.youtube.com/watch?v=uC01HPUl7bg&feature=related

Oh man, that video is hilarious proof of what sucked about XPW. - Incoherent commentary. - Swearing that made no sense. - A high pitched scream that made slightly more sense. - Appalling gimmicks. - ECW wrestlers molesting their own legacy in order to feed their families. - Workers that sucked so bad, they couldn't even sell getting hit by a tranq dart. The guy had to step over the guard railing and carefully stand on the edge before flipping over. At least Vic Grimes took it like a man!
Basically, XPW was the visual representation of ECW's corpse being molested - or since it started before ECW ended, its body on life support being molested like in Kill Bill.
And knowing Rob Black, there's probably a video of him molesting a corpse in his collection somewhere.

"This 'Aint Your Daddy's Wrestling" was their tag line.My Dad never watched wrestling!Personally I thought they had a lot of great talent.I even was at a live show at the November to Dismember Metal fest back in 2000 which I filmed. The main event had Sabu defending the XPW title against Big Dick Dudley & Kronos in a triple threat match.
The show had a late start which interfered withthe bands tahtwere supposed to be playing on the stage near the ring.So durring the main event a band began playing so Sabu & Co.Took the match to the stage and brawled while the band played. They took it back to the ring and the lead singer threatened to beat up the wrestlers if tehy came back up on stage again.
I'v ebeen given a lot if XPW tapes. The early ones aren't bad but the weekly TV series was an embarrassment.Since they didn't have regular wrestling they had to take the story lines in to what looked more like a movie or something. One had a cliff hanger ending where Jessica Darling finds an unseen person in her trailer as she arrives home and is tied up and gagged.the next show has "White Trash" Johnny Webb(Jamie Noble stole that gimmick with Nidia!) coming home to find her tied up then they go back to The play by play guys(Larry Rivera and Kric Kloss)talking about it.It made NO SENSE!
I interviewed Rob Black at last year's AVN convention. He said he invested millions in the company but the shows were only drawing like 1000 people or so.Taht would be great for an indie buttheywere actually trying to compete with WWE and it failed so now Rob has gone back to doing what he was successful at which is making extreme porn!

Black's checks ultimately ended up bouncing towards the end of the run. Black also called IWA MS XPW's D-League (there was a show where Chris Hero,Colt Cabana, Jimmy Jacobs, and CM Punk were all suppose to show up, and when they were called developmental wrestlers, and found out they were suppose to lose to Pogo the Clown, they left). Black did a good job of alienating good indy wrestlers by limiting where they could work (CZW,ROH,3PW,IWS, and eventually IWA MS all said if you work for XPW, you don't work for them)

I only ever watched one XPW tape that I got for a buck at an FYE-they were giving the damn things away. To me, everything about XPW was bad. The in ring action and the mic work were bad. But also, the lighting and camera work were bad. The sets were bad. Even the crowds were bad. And honestly, the gimmick matches they came up with were bad.
Wrestling will never be accused of being a show that promotes good taste, for sure, but XPW was just ridiculous. Pogo the clown. Need I say more? And I heard somewhere they had this guy feuding with another wrestler over who got to molest a gay wrestler? Lord-a-mighty.
I also think XPW should be a lesson to all the future promoters out there. No offense to anyone on these boards, but I have heard numerous people talk about how they could run a wrestling organization better than Vince McMahon. Rob Black evidently thought that, and the results should stand as a lesson that it is not easy at all. It takes more than just throwing some money at some big-shots and showing some blood on TV.
I also recall hearing that shortly after XPW folded, there was some sort of controversy because an ex-XPW wrestlers accused Rob Black of hiring thugs to attack him in his home and cut some of his fingers off. Whether its true or not, I think its safe to say Rob Black is scum.

Yeah. It was Messiah. He chose to work for another company over XPW(I think CZW), so Black sent a couple thugs to his house and cut off his thumb. It was on America's Most Wanted.
