How? I mean it's essentially just an improved Fire Pro Because it moves like Smackdown. The original Smackdown. The transitions in animations are choppy and extremely poorly done and the vocals are annoying as hell. Yeah, the graphics are nice, but that's pretty much it. You think the animations look choppy, yet you like FPR? wtf

Well I just got this game because of all the steam ya'll put up its ass and I gotta say that i'm kinda dissapointed in it. I cant grapple I cant It's got some great moves in it I gotta admit that. But the controls are worse than smackdowns. Is there some kinda way I can practice a dummy? I even put computer skill to 1 and I still cant figure it out. and Yes I only have one controller. I picked up a chair on accident and couldnt connect with it. And computer would it kill you to sell!!!!!!! ? Well time to practice again. I was just as aggravated as you are when I started playing the game, but I eventually improved and am having fun with it. All you need is practice. And love. All you need is love. Love. Love is all you need.

Try to track down a copy of FPW 2 for GBA. There's a practice mode where they go through the basic moves of the game in a tutorial. It's tough to find, but I've had success finding used copies in Gamestops (this is also assuming that you have a GBA or equipment related). But I will tell you this, Diesel...I have more fun simming and watching the matches than I do playing them.

Submission finishers are so frustrating to pull off. Huh? They're probably easier to win a match with than non-pinning finishers. I tend to work over the body part they hurt beforehand, though.

Yeah, I've finally got it working better. Working over the body part takes a bit longer when you're trying to win with an arm submission hold. Not as many high impact moves for that body part. edit: Although I find it very irritating when I work over the arm all match, have it hanging off injured for at least eight minutes match time, put them in the vice about eight more times while still working over the arm, and then lose to a small package after 25 minutes. Soooo unsatisfying.

People scoff at me for just simming matches, but at the same time it's just so awesome to watch

Soooo unsatisfying. I forget the names of the stats, but you I think it's Stamina and Spirit. When their Spirit is low, they may submit. When you work on a body part, it mostly lowers Stamina. And if you're doing the Anaconda Vice, I suggest working on the neck too, it helps. I have a guy with that as a finisher and he has a couple arm stomps, a few armbars, and the two armbreakers in the X button category. I work on the arm until it's damaged, then unleash the DDTs and brainbusters. The setup is a (sorry if I mess up the name) Fujiwara Driver II (like a blackhole slam) and then the Anaconda Vice. They submit in about 5-8 minutes usually.

They submit in about 5-8 minutes usually. I'm more unsatisfied that I lost to a small package then that they didn't submit, even though I still think they should have submitted because I'd been working over their neck too, although not as much. That was just lame and anti-climactic after so long. Pin me after one of the backdrop drivers or something that you didn't pin me with instead of a small package. It takes me longer than 10 minutes just to get them into the injured phase because it's a female CAW so she isn't that strong. And I tried to give moves that fit the style I was going for more, so there aren't really any high impact moves. I have a few armbars, the armbreaker in the X category, two arm holds in the [] category, and an arm stomp programmed in, as well as a number of head/neck attacks and other submission holds. It has worked well and I'd won 3 of 4 matches in a league with the Vice up to that point (the one loss came after my opponent actually hit me with their finishing move, an Asai DDT, so the ending felt more satisfying). Just wasn't enough this time. Oh, well. One thing I really need to work on is kicking out of pins. Half the time I can't tell if they really beat me or if they beat me because I have always royally sucked at rapidly tapping buttons.

I figured it out. You have to create a group within your promotion

Yeah, the group thing's kind of a pain, since there's a limited number of them, and the only way to make a person face or heel is to assign them to said group. I got around this by creating Face and Heel groupings in each, but I still don't understand why there's a limit to how many groups you can have.

When you're on the cage, get near the corner and I think it's []+direction to the corner. You have to be up at the top and press the square and direction at that time. I've only gotten it to work from one corner, they very top one.

I'm having a heck of a feud over my newly-established Ultimate Knockout (K1) championship. Argos Borga became the first champion, and then I held a KO Battle Royal to determine a #1 contender, which was won by Bitsadze Tariel.
Now here's where it gets interesting. In the title match, with me playing as Borga, Tariel cracks me in the head with a kick, scoring a CRITICAL! at 49 seconds into the first round. New champion.
I invoke the rematch clause and face Tariel for the title, and knock him out in four rounds. New champion.
Tariel gets his rematch. Kick to the head, CRITICAL!, new champion. 28 seconds.
Rematch for Borga, KO in three rounds, new champion.
Rematch for Tariel. This one actually goes four rounds, but Tariel knocks me out. New champion.
Rematch for Borga. Three rounds, KO. New champion.
Rematch for Tariel. Finally, I manage to successfully defend the title after a CRITICAL! spin kick to the head in the second round.
Quite an ordeal.

I got around this by creating Face and Heel groupings in each, but I still don't understand why there's a limit to how many groups you can have. You can get mroe groups by deleting in-game default groups. I recommend deleting the defunct or 1/2 man groups, for instance America- Outlaw, AJPW-Free, Riki Pro-Legend, Free-Dragondoor, BJPW-Free, Zero 1-World, DDT-Union, and NOAH-Free. All are 1 man, 2 man, or essentially obsolete/useless if you move the guys in them to the groups you want them in.

I forgot to mention something that happened in that Knockout Battle Royal. I received possibly the best CRITICAL! that anyone could ever take. Mirko Cro Cop kicked me in the head so hard that I went flying over the top rope and to the floor.
