Well my friend from the old WCW days, and present WWE star, Booker T made my day by visiting me for a couple of hours at my home. We talked and laughed a lot about the old days, and about his wrestling academy here in Houston. I've got to give it a plug here: www.BOOKERTPROWRESTLINGACADEMYINC.COM with a phone number:(281)993-5321. Serious students, only please. His school is in the Houston area, and Booker does the training himself when he comes home from the road. Once you are a student you can continue to train there even after your initial six months are up. I will be going to visit his academy next week, and will let you know more details then. 'Quake

Good deal. Booker's academy ought to be infinity better than Hardcore Holly's. I wish Booker luck. One question 'Quake. Is there a resurgence happening in Texas wrestling? In his book Terry Funk stated that Texas would be an ideal place to start a promotion up again. Its got a great fan base, and travelling expenses would be reasonable due to either driving or using Southwest Air. Plus local TV , radio, and Newspaper advertising would be cheaper. I hope that maybe Booker may get into this once his career in the WWE is finished. This Wrestling academy would be a good start. Plus Booker, being a Texan would be able to connect well with the fan base. I miss the old Von Erich Texas Wrestling Promotion.

I'm wondering which kind of teacher Booker T is... personnally if I would train to become a wrestler, I would like a teacher who have a lot of respect for the business, but who also have a sense of humor, unlike what I saw from a guy like Holly in Tough Enough.

Isn't Stevie Ray also working with him in this. I thought I heard somewhere he was going to do the day to day stuff and train while Booker is on the road. Booker T I wouldn't mind if he was my trainer because he is one great wrestler. So I'm sure he can teach people to work great matches.
He seems to be a guy who respect the business because he always been a hard worker.

I didn't get to go yet due to my condition, but Booker is a kind guy that loves to laugh. I'm sure he's a good trainer. I will go when I get a chance. 'Quake

Well I finally made it to Booker's school on Thursday night. He picked myself, and my son up in his Hummer. (Sorry-my first time in a Hummer, thought it was cool!) His school is pretty nice. He has two rings, and will soon have a third. On the other side of his huge facility, a guy trains people in MMA. He had eight students there nthat night. They started with calesthenics, and progressed to bumping, and working combination moves. I was pretty impressed with the students there. They obviously have heart and determination to succeed. Booker would get in the ring, show them what he wanted them to do, then watched as the students went through the drills. He stopped them when they did something wrong, and applauded them for good work. He is taking the time to teach them all the little things that are important, but sometimes go unnoticed. Training lasted about two hours. I would recommend his school to interested students in the area. He is even considering getting a place to house students from out of town, but that is still in the think tank, and not a for-sure thing. 'Quake
