Death Valley.
Jeff Hardy for sure....if he hadn't raised Jeff's hand after that ladder match, I doubt Jeff would be where he is today.
Maven.
He made Muhammed Hassan infamous.

I'd argue JBL... he helped make JBL seem like a credible champion imo

I couldn't come up with a single name.

I think a case could be made for Foley. Foley had been through so much from WCW, to ECW to crazy death matches and such, but in the pre youtube, pre Vince owning nearly all wrestling footage, early DVD and internet days only the most hardcore fans really knew about it. Kind of like the punk rockers of my Jr. High and High school days, who got their music from Maximum rock and roll or some such zine you had to know somebody to know how to get it. Once HIAC happened, it was WWE footage they could show it as often as they liked and they did, was when interest in Foley skyrocketted. From then on he became a world champion, a best selling author etc.

Hey, let's all take wrestlers catch phrases literally!
I'd also like to point out that I have NEVER seen the Rock cook a single dish whilst cutting a promo. Austin hardly had the bottom line, as people often rebutted his main contention in any discussion. I would also like to point out that Randy Orton has never been responsible for the death of anyone, Legend or otherwise as far as we are aware.
Or...
The point of the "I'll make you famous" line was just like someone already pointed out, it meant Taker would make you well known for suffering a serious beating at his hands. If I remember correctly, it did originate around the time of the 6 man Hell In a Cell, where along with the question of who would win the belt, fans wanted to watch to see who Taker would "make famous" by promising to throw someone off the cage again.
I thought it was a pretty bad-ass phrase to be honest. The irony was that when he said it, it mean lot of the guys he "made famous" are pretty much only known for getting their ass whooped by Taker. Thus he made them famous only because they show up in highlight videos of him beating the crap outta them. When else do you see Giant Gonzales footage on WWE TV than once a year when the Takers winning streak at Mania is in a highlight package?
I mean think logically... it was a THREAT. Why would a bad ass biker dude be threatening to help get guys over with the fans or help them sell more T-shirts?? DUH!

Ironically he threw Rikishi from the top of the cage, and very few people seem to remember it.
