Michaels/ Jeff Hardy
You know, I thought this was going to happen after Michaels' last PPV bout against Orton. With that promo at that time, where Hardy said to HBK, "You of all people know what its like to be held back."
After a tag-team triumph over _____ and ______, HBK then cheap-superkicks Hardy out of no where, the crowd confused and wondering...."why?"
We've seen for sometime where HBK's promos slightly admit his growing age.....and what proceeds after that cheap-kick is that HBK was insulted that some "hack" had the gaul to compare himself to Michaels, and that fans were behind him.
While HBK, as an aging insecure egomaniac, talks of how Hardy is some upstart who can't wrestle, but only jumps and falls, and how his "Rainbow Warrior" emo-look is stupid, idiotic, and questioning of his sexuality.
"Boy, I made the ladder match. You and your goofy brother simply rode on my coattails!"
Then Hardy retorts, among other things, by replaying clips of the infamous "Male Prostitute" HBK years in the mid-1990s, including perhaps that oral sex-simulation by Michaels. Oh and some (poorly scripted) insults about Michaels' balding.
If played right, that feud would have made the point that while their wrestling work styles are different, Hardy is as much a younger HBK in that he's a bump machine like Michaels was a decade ago.
The feud would conclude with a brutal grunge affair, perhaps fittingly a ladder match*, where two men synomously linked in many minds with that gimmick, duke it out....with Hardy coming out on top.
But most of all, a symbolic "passing of the torch."
Enough of my rant for a feud that I think would sell.......what feuds do YOU want to see this year?
*=Maybe a two-man "Money in the Bank."? No one would believe HBK could win if its simply the IC strap on the line.

An Edge/Taker feud with no third person, although I'm pretty sure it will happen.

I wouldn't mind seeing Londrick split up if Kendrick turns heel and mentions wanting to follow in HBK's footsteps (Shawn trained him), starting with ditching his partner, setting up a Shawn/Kendrick feud.
Jeff vs. Matt could work if they are on the same show, and one wins a major title. It would be played out like Bret/Owen.
I don't think Jericho has feuded with Edge yet. That would be awesome.
Jericho vs. Kennedy. Imagine the promos.

Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels would be huge money, huge buyrates, and make Jeff Hardy officially a top draw.
The problem is, elevating Jeff Hardy to ME status means that you will have the following ME'ers on RAW in 2008: HBK Hardy Orton Triple H JBL Jericho Cena when he's back mid-year Lashley when he's back
If Jeff succeeds at breaking the rainbow-colored stained glass ceiling, then you'd have to think that Lashley would turn heel and be Punk's Biggest Challenge Yet on ECW. I'd kind of like to see that, with the caveat of giving Lashley a manager.
And then there's Kennedy and Umaga. Really, we have to assume that the IC belt will fall into a feud between these two, since Jeff doesn't need it. Babyface Umaga? Time to bring in the Reverend Slick and his Colombian friends.
The tag team division is shot with the Lance Cade injury, unless they want a face/face feud between Holly/Rhodes and London/Kendrick. I'd like that, since it could lead to a Spanky heel turn and push both Hooliganz up into the IC picture for a while.
This leaves a pile of low-card jobbers... [heel]Santino Marella Trevor Murdoch Carlito Snitsky Charlie Haas[/heel] [face]Duggan Super Crazy Val Venis[/face] ...whose job it is to get DH Smith over to compete for the IC Belt by Summerslam.

Cena vs Kennedy - I reckon that was they they would have gone for this years Wrestlemania when Kennedy was meant to be the son but that won't happen now.
HBK vs Jeff Hardy sounds awesome. Will fans cheer Jeff over HBK though? It's certainly possible although not guarenteed. If the feud ends in a ladder match with Jeff winning then that will be just perfect. HBK can get the first win at a PPV before it concludes in a ladder match. Keeps HBK reasonably strong but cements Jeff.

Santino and Carlito (vs) Rhodes and Holly for the tag team titles going into Wrestlemania 24. Santino and Carlito would own then on the mic though. SO I am not sure how it would be played out.

Considering that HBK has been a compelling heel before, even in this decade (remember his Hart-teaser stunt at Montreal?)....he could make it work. Not the same situation, but it reminds me of Flair/Sting in the late 80s/early 90s.....where Flair is the egotistical heel that wants to put down this upstart, how "to be the Man, you gotta beat The Man!".....and Sting finally beats him for the strap to be da man.

I do realise that, but the difference here is that HBK's rival at the time was Hogan. A WWE crowd will rarely boo Hogan, so it would be easier for them to boo HBK in this instance especially if he was playing the heel. Jeff isn't as big a star as Hogan though, so that's why I question whether he would get total crowd support. It would be a fantastic feud, but I think HBK would really need to be ultra-dispicable in order to get the heat he would need.
