Backstage cameras before main events in which they followed the competitors out to the entryway.
I have no idea what it was, but just seeing the guys making that long walk out to the stage, usually accompanied by the ominous "cage lowering music" really helped make main events special to me back then.
It just got me more pumped up I guess, not sure what it was really.
I wish they'd start doing this again.

I remember Goldberg's entrance when they'd show him with security guards backstage before heading on his way.
This is more of a WCW thing though.

I think they still use that theme for the big matches on PPV, can't remember when I last heard it though.

I also loved when RAW was on the night after the PPV and they'd have some sort of re-cap of the previous night while playing some crazy classical, choir music.

I remember they used to actually show a lot of backsatge preparations for all the big Title Matches. Now we get Cena da Gangster, or HHH as Conan, ect.

Say what you will about Goldberg, but one of the things I liked about him was his no nonsense approach to the ring backstage while the camera followed him. It made him seem like more of a badass.
Yeah they could do this for more people, it would actually build character for them I think.

I liked it at the last few wrestlemania's, for the main event, they'd show say HHH and Cena preparing for the match, each looking really intense. While JR talks about their preparation, and what it means to them to be in the Main event spot. Really added a feeling of importance and reality to the occasion.

For some reason I seem to remember him walking from his dressing room to the ring.

Another thing I miss about entrances is the wrestler walking down the ramp and talking trash to the camera. They used to do it in WCW all the time.

Jack Evans and Daizee Haze do that in ROH all the time. I like THIS from IYH Degeneration X. It has pre-match interviews and the walks to the ring. Plus Girth Brooks" & "Fat Tub of Goo" are some of the funniest things i've heard HBK say.

The DX Interview with Shawn in the wheelchair was one of the first RAWs I ever saw. Awesome stuff. I totally dig Shawn's Mortal Kombat vest thing he had going on there.
