Awesome DVD lineup, but I'm worried about the Summerslam set. I hope WWE doesn't edit out You Know Who, because if I'm going to be paying $200 for the set then I want the whole thing. Last I heard, he'll be in it, but his matches won't be put on any of the printed listings.

i hope the wwe does edit out john cena in that set
anyway starrcade deserves a full anthology just as much as summer slam royal rumble or survivor series, sure vince doesnt like acknowledging wcw's contribution to wrestling but he needs to get over it in the interest of making money, and it seems abit early for hhh, edge and hardys dvd's

Just as long as Edge's DVD features his stuff with Christian, I will be extremely excited. I treasure my DVD collection since I look to have all of the DVDs ever released, so I will be getting all of them.

What are the odds that "Macho Madness" (if true) is going to be like an Ultimate Warrior type DVD.

What are the odds that "Macho Madness" (if true) is going to be like an Ultimate Warrior type DVD. If Vince wanted to bury Macho and all those "rumours" are true. Wouldn't he have done it a long time ago? It's not like Vince and Macho just had a falling out.

Vince, slagged on Bret and Warrior for years before he rolled out their respective DVD's. Its not like were talking about normal logic here, were talking about Vince McMahon.

2/12 -- The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin 3/25 -- Triple H: The King of Kings 5/6 -- Evolution of the Hardys 6/3 -- The Rock 7/8 -- Best of Starrcade 8/5 -- 20-disc SummerSlam Anthology 8/5 -- Life and Times of Mr. Perfect 11/4 -- Edge 11/18 -- RANDY SAVAGE: MACHO MADNESS 12/9 -- STING Hmmm... an interesting list and some we had heard rumored since, what, August? Anyway, to buy or not to buy? Austin - Probably. Would like a DVD count and a match listing before I commit. Like to see some Stunning Steve from WCW for sure. Triple H - Boy, this is a tough one. Again, depends on DVD count and match listings. Somehow I don't see pre WWE stuff getting included and then there is the question as to what to include without double dipping and keeping it from getting boring. We'll see. Hardys - LOVE to see a few of the JTTS matches for Jeff included as well as their growth as a tag team. This is a pretty safe buy for me regardless. The Rock - This had better be 3 dics for it to even be remotely good. Hoping for a good sized doc to go with a good match selection and of course, interview spots galore. This is another safe buy for me. Best of Starrcade - I am committing a wrestling blaspheme here, but I have only seen one Starrcade and that was the Battle Bowl Starrcade, want to say 1990 or so. So this is both a buy for me and exciting to see some good stuff. And yes, I too hope there will be a Starrcade Anthology. SummerSlam - Oh hell yes. I do wish Survivor Series was out by now too, but I am excited to see the early stuff, pre 1990 or so since that is when I started watching the PPVs. Just wonder if the E will end the Anthology line with the Series or continue with either WCW stuff or maybe even do a King of the Ring Anthology. Mr. Perfect - Another easy hell yes. Be it AWA, WWE or WCW, I'm a fan of Curt Henning and really want to see what the E can do with this. Edge - Mmmm... need to see match listing and DVD count. I agree with others who say it may be too soon for this since Edge is really just reaching the top of his game and should have a lot more good stuff in him. Still, this could be good. Randy Savage - Agree with others who are hoping this is not a burial. I would love to see a healthy collection of Savage matches beyond Steamboat and Hogan. We'll see. Sting - If this one comes off, I will be so amazed and pleased. We really need a DVD that shows off Sting's career, especially more of his matches with Flair and the matches he had with Vader and Rude. If it comes off, I will be there. Scary thought though: this is hardly a final DVD listing for '08. The E could add more in addition to the PPVs. The mind boggles and the wallet cries out desperately for help.

I have a hard time believing they would do a Sting DVD if he were with TNA. So why release a DVD promoting someone who is with the competition?
The Savage deal is going to be one of the more interesting stories to follow throughout the new year.
Edge's DVD (if it is a 2 disc set with early stuff and a bio) could be great.
Based on nothing right now, the Hardy's, Edge, Perfect, Savage, Sting, Starrcade and Rocky DVDs are all must buys.

WWE is already advertising the Austin DVD on the Raw DVD and they say it will cover his WCW tenure so hopefully we'll get a match with the Great Muta from Spring Stampede 94 and some Steamboat and Windham matches.

I'm not gonna get my hopes up just yet for the later ones (Starrcade, Perfect, Macho Man, Sting). I'll believe it when I see it on the shelves.

Hopefully all these DVDs aren't delayed until 2009 so they can edit out Chris Benoit.

Hopefully all these DVDs aren't delayed until 2009 so they can edit out Chris Benoit. Man I could just imagine how that would work... DVD Guy #1: Hey Stan what are ya doing? DVD Guy #2: Editing Chris Benoit out of this Nitro from '98. DVD Guy #1: For the Savage DVD? DVD Guy #2: Yep. DVD Guy #1: But Stan we're just using Macho's match, not the whole two hour broadcast! DVD Guy #2: Well I'm an idiot.

You can get Starrcades on DVD on ebay. Obviously they're not official or anything, though.
And hasn't the 'legacy' of SCSA been pretty much covered on the McMahon DVD?

Well, I think the concensus on Benoit is as long as he is not featured on the DVD box , it's OK. Otherwise, they couldn't be releasing the SummerSlam anthology or the last two Rumble sets. Am interested to see if Benoit will be included on the inside match listings for the DVDs.
The only two releases that right now feel questionable are Savage and Sting and they're the last two, so there is time that if things fall apart, something else may be brought in to replace them. Perfect I think is pretty safe as I think the E had been working on this for a while. Starrcade... we'll see.
As for Steve Austin, great to hear the WCW stuff will be included, but what about ECW or USWA? Call me an old man if you want, but honestly, I enjoy watching the old school stuff more and more. Like the memories I suppose and it was quite honestly a lot more fun.

Where did you hear that Sting has signed a new deal with TNA? Thought I saw that somewhere...went back and the WON from last week said bluntly...Sting hasn't signed a new deal. So there, doesn't his current one end tomorrow or something?

Regarding the Sting DVD, I think PWInsider said that even if Sting re-signs with TNA it'll be for 1 year, which means by Dec. 2008 he could be done with them - so a WWE DVD wouldn't be so impossible. Plus I'm gonna assume the WWE's at least contacted him before now regarding a DVD of some sort? No doubt the Randy Savage DVD is going to be a "Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" Style DVD, No doubt will still be worth checking out. See, I don't agree with that one so much. Warrior was FAR more unstable, and has gone out of his way to prove to the people that he's like that in real life and it's kinda dangerous and insane. Whenever Macho's been seen, it's as an intense character, sure, but nowhere near the levels of Warrior. And he's relatively been the same guy for like the last 25-30 years. I mean, the last time a major audience saw him was in SPIDER-MAN........and he was basically the same as he's always been, and everyone I know who saw that movie loved seeing him in it. Plus Macho could actually wrestle and put on many 4-5 star matches in his career. Warrior's best match was at WM7, where it was Savage (surprise surprise) who carried him to a damn fine match. A burial would just be absolutely stupid and do nothing for the WWE except garner hatred from the fanbase and maybe some legends. Some people didn't like the Warrior burial, but in a way it made sense because people in the industry really didn't like the guy, he himself didn't really care most of the time, and not much that he'd done has proven to be redeemable or memorably in the long run. Savage is a HOF caliber guy, was a world champ on many occassions and was an actual good wrestler. Even if people have some problems with him, I think he's got far too much support in the industry and fanbase to warrant a burial of this scale.
