this week's wrestling Observer newsletter has a new, list of scheduled DVDs for the year:
2/12 -- The Legacy of Stone Cold Steve Austin 3/25 -- Triple H: The King of Kings 5/6 -- Evolution of the Hardys 6/3 -- The Rock 7/8 -- Best of Starrcade 8/5 -- 20-disc SummerSlam Anthology 8/5 -- Life and Times of Mr. Perfect 11/4 -- Edge 11/18 -- RANDY SAVAGE: MACHO MADNESS 12/9 -- STING
Of course that subject to change (especially the Sting one, if he ends up re-signing with TNA). But I am shocked that WWE is actually releasing a Savage DVD.

That's one bitchin' line up. I'll probably end up with all of them.

The first two would be optional viewing for me, but all of the other ones I MUST HAVE IMMEDIATELY!!

I may very well be buying each one of these. Course depending what matches are on each may or may not make me buy them. That said. *crosses fingers for the Sting dvd*

Great stuff. A Starcade anthology would have been awesome (I think some of that stuff was never released commercially), but that's probably too much to ask.
I can't see them bothering with a Sting DVD without his participation - to put him on this list, you have to guess they've sent feelers out already.
And speaking of participation - it will be very interesting to see if Rock or Savage shows up on WWE programming at some point.
And I guess this means more face time for Steve Austin in late January/early February. He needs to either have another run in the ring or not come back so damn often, I think it's hurting his legacy.

Although I am happy to see a SummerSlam anthology released. Why is Survivor Series being left till last? It's the 2nd oldest PPV series (and my favourite one). Best of Starrcade could be good, but why not release an anthology of that too? I'm happy to see a Mr. Perfect and Randy Savage DVD but still no DiBiase.

I'll have all but, the Rock's (not a fan) and Summerslam (too expensive) ones. The Sting and Macho ones are a surprise but, a damn good one.

Best of Starrcade could be good, but why not release an anthology of that too? I'm sure they question whether there's a market for a 20+ disc set from Starcade. And some of that early stuff is REALLY obscure.

11/18 -- RANDY SAVAGE: MACHO MADNESS ;D And like the Sting DVD, I highly doubt they'd plan such a DVD (which might already be in production), without having personal communication with Savage. Hogan hinted as much at the anniversary show. It'd be great to see him make an appearance.

No doubt the Randy Savage DVD is going to be a "Self Destruction of the Ultimate Warrior" Style DVD, No doubt will still be worth checking out.
Nice looking Selection, May have to to try and get the Mr Perfect one for sure.

The big ones that I must get are the ones for The Hardy Boys and The Rock. The rest, interesting but not must have stuff.

you'd think they would wait on the hardy one... i mean they're still in the middle of their careers.

So, that answers the Savage/Steph question. Possibly Vince hated Savage for the crappy way he treated Elizabeth. He mentioned in the playboy interview he hated stuff like men hitting their wives, so maybe that was the persona beef with savage (yeah I know about Austin but he was WWE biggest star at the time, Vince coulnd't have cut him out of he'd wanted to)

Savage has just demanded a big payday for any appearance, which insults Vince, who thinks Savage should be happy just to be on TV. (Same kind of thing with King Kong Bundy, who was once offered induction into the HOF - he said sure, if you give me a match at Mania). That stuff pisses Vince off, so you won't ever see Bundy on WWE TV. A DVD though, is a perfect opportunity for a mutual business relationship. Maybe Savage gets a cut for his participation and a WWE appearance or two.
