Wrestlemania III never drew 93,000 fans. The WWE even admitted this a number of years ago when they released their top attendence of all-time. WMIII was listed as #3 with 75,193 tickets sold, with an additional 3,000 being given away for free. It's amazing the media has let McMahon get away with this 93,000 myth whenever it is written in print.
Now, the WWE could definitely top the extremely impressive number of 78,173. WM23 was listed as 80,003 but was really about 74,000. It could be done though.

Here are my questions: -If Wrestlemania 3 didn't draw 93,173 people and that number was just made up, then how many people did it actually have? I've never heard an actual number. All I hear is people talking about the actual number, things like "sources say the actual number was closer to 78,000" or things like that. You would think that the exaggerated number wouldn't be the only one recorded and that the real number would have been recorded somewhere. -Also, If I always hear 78,000 people as the number, that's all I keep seeing. You mean to tell me that it was exactly 78,000 people right on the button? I don't think so. Everyone knows that this number is rounded off. Butt rounded off from what? OH, I know! It's rounded off from the real number! ofcourse I can't tell you the real number because either A) It actually wasn't recorded, which dosen't make any sense for WRESTLEMANIA FRAKIN' 3! Or B) the "real number" dosen't actually exist, because the 93173 is the real number. -Also, The old Pontiac Silverdome is said by today's fans that it only held 80'000 fans. Hello, It held 80,000 fans FOR FOOTBALL. Which means, it had 80,000 seats (the exact number was 81 thousand and something) These do not count floor seating for Boxing, basketball and Wrestling. A wrestling event could easily have had 12,000 floor seats. -We know that the old Pontiac Silverdome fitted over 80,000 stadium seats. Now, as far as everyone who has ever viewed a pic of Wrestlemania 3, the building was sold out, reguardless of how many fans you think were there. The thing is, is that If it were really sold out, it would have had to have been over 90,000 fans. If it were really 78,000 or so fans, then that's not even enough to fill in the stadium seatintg by itself. So If you had, say, 10,000 people on the floor, you would have had 68,000 fans in the stadium seats, which means you would have had to have seen 13,000 empty seats. Look at the pics and tell me you see 13,000 empty seats. -Also, I figured that Wrestlemania 23 would finnally shatter this "WM 3 78,000" myth once and for all, but I guess it hasn't. See, the Idea is that Wrestlemania 23 drew a legit 75,000 + fans (the actual number is out there). You can look at the two pics and compare the two. Do you mean to tell me that WM 3 had only 3,000 or so more fans than WM 23!?. Silverdome did have 80,000 seats for football, however if you est a 13,000 on the field, that might seem like alot of people on the field. In fact might be a fire risk. I say looking at WM3 photos, perhaps another 3-5,000 fans which would bring it up to 85,000 est. Nah, It's actually a certain percentage of floor seats to stadium seats, a mathmatical formula that I currently forget. If you calculate the number of fans on a regular WWE shoe that has about 10,000 fans, there's about 1,500 fans on the floor. that's 8,500 for arena, and 1,500 for floor. It depends on how TALL the building is. If you have an arene that gets stretched OUT enough to have 80,000 seats, then the 6:1 ratio or so figure will remain the same, it won't be the same though the taller the building is. That was the difference between Wembly stadium and the Silverdome, was that the Silverdome was taller, but it easily had the same amount, I say more, fans on the floor at Wrestlemania 3 than at Summerslam '92. SummerSlam 92 had about 69,000 or so fans in the stands, and 11,000 or so fans on the floor.

I know the WM 3 has been fabricated over the years. But the sight of the audience WM 3 was just impressive to look at nonethless. But do u think Vince could do it again being that wrestling isnt as popular as it once was? Do ya think it could be done drawing that many viewers again? I have so many reasons as to why the "78,000" figure at Wrestlemania 3 is just a negative myth. Anyway, after seeing the crowd that they drew at Wrestlemania 23, I have no doubt It's possible. I was there in person for both WM 3 and 23 and I'm telling ya, that 78 thousand suff is crap. I'm not going to say that there was 93 thousand but the number is closer to 93 thousand than 78 thousand for both WM's.

However, If that is actually true, then how come I can't see 15,000 empty seats in the stadium?

Fatal Six Way...Hogan vs Austin vs Flair vs Rock vs. Undertaker vs. HBK Arguably the 6 biggest names in wrestling ever. That would do it. There, fixed.

If they held it in the right venue (Large capacity arena with lots of wrestling fans in the area), they certainly could.
If I remember right, didn't last mania get the most buyrates yet? Whatever it was, they're definitely doing very well even if other things maybe aren't...so they shouldn't have much problem filling the right arena.

The Wembley Stadium crowd of Summer Slam '92 is the closest they'll ever get. And dare I say that crowd actually looked bigger than WM III's?

another thing about the WM III attendance is there is some deviations in figures because some count stadium/event staff, wrestlers, wrestlers families, etc, while some numbers do not. Sure, its not the difference between 78k and 93k, but its enough to sway it probably a couple thousand. So, even if there were a legit 78k fans at the arena, it probably gets closer to an even 80k when you put in staff and whatnot, maybe even higher.

I'm still not sure how anyone can deny the possibility of them beating the record. They drew *80,000+* last year (during a VERY slow time for them). Hell, the Citrus Bowl is already sold out to the upper-deck (or close to it) last time I checked, and WrestleMania isn't for another like 3+ months.
