I don't know if there's already been a thread like this.
But I'm making one, simply to state my love for the New Breed vs. ECW Originals match on the ECW AFTER Wrestlemania.
It was an amazingly entertaining match. I could careless who won because I knew I was watching an amazing match. They had every little spot planned, the perfect combination of selling moves, yet making sure not a second of the match started to get "slow".
To think this is what the new ECW could have been. And then...bye bye Sandman, Sabu, RVD, and Marcus Cor Von. Followed by the ruination of Kevin Thorn in losing Ariel, the small push, then quickly forgetting Elijah Burke, and whatever Tommy's doing now.
The only person doing anything right now worth talking about is Matt Striker...and it's not even in a wrestling capacity.
ANYWAY! WWE Match of the Year in my opinion.

Out of the 8 people in that match, Striker is the only one doing something.

That really was a good match. I really enjoyed it.
Also, since we're talking about the best of 07, I'd like to mention the John Cena/Umaga Last Man Standing match from the Royal Rumble. Really great match that exceeded expectations.

With me being an out-of-the-box type of person, I'm gonna say this: The Royal Rumble match from 2007 is the WWE match of the year in 2007. 60 minutes with no boredom, and the final ten were possibly the best in Rumble history with Michaels and the Undertaker. IN TEXAS!

Taker v Batista. It could have been a bleah match, but it surpassed the most optimistic expectations.
Cena v Michaels II. A solid hour of good-to-great wrestling.

I really liked Orton vs Cena from Summerslam, that match had me sucked in from the beginning, plus the crowd made that match really entertaining.

I rarely get to see PPVs on account of they are pricey and I've got very few friends who are wrestling fans to go in on it with me, so I'll just assume I'm missing out on some of the previously mentioned MOTY nominees from fellow crappers.
That said, I was watching the ECW highlight edition this last week and saw IMO one of the best matches I've ever seen. Punk, Morrison, and the Miz.
That match was intense, I can not actually remember a wrestling match in recent memory that was that well executed. I totally wasn't even thinking about the back stage stuff, the work it must have taken to practice some of their set, or that these were "real" people. All I saw was an enthralling match that put over every single competetor.
So, although I know I haven't seen them all, that to me is hands down the single best match of 2007.
