There was no Rumbe in '04, none whatsoever. If, in fact, there WASa Royal Rumble in '04, it was won by Triple H, damn it! Just ask Briscoe, he'll tell you.

pat patterson won it. was held in rio Yep, that's it. It was a special non-see through "catch as catch can" match between him and Lombardi. There were zero people in attendance after the first thirty seconds, although a hoffified Hacksaw Jim Duggan keeps shaking and mumbling "still not clean" for what it's worth.

Since the WWE decided to ignore the 2004 Royal Rumble because Chris Benoit won it, I hereby name myself the official 2004 Royal Rumble winner !
HURRAY FOR ME !!

I'm really interested how the commentary team is to deal with it. Maybe they can get away with not mentioning it this year, but surely, somewhere down the line, when the number 1 entrant enters, and they make note of who entered at 1 at won it etc etc. Sometime, Benoit's name is gonna have to come up.

Are they just going to say "well number 1 is the most unlucky number to get in the Rumble, but in 1995 the Heart Break Kid did enter Number 1 and win the match..." and just leave it like that, with no mention of the other number 1 winner?

You know what I've never got they make a big deal about HBK and Benoit entering at #1, but don't mention Mysterio who won from #2, there NO FREAKING difference, WTF.

Maven won it - WWE decided that him not being out from the 2002 Rumble was getting too silly, and just decided to award him the 2004 Rumble.

So in essence, Rey Mysterio is better then HBK.
