Don't forget, in the 2003 Rumble:
*Charlie Haas defeated Holly to retain the WWE Title in a showstealer *Gene Snitsky won the Royal Rumble to challenge Haas at WM19

if anything #1 has an advantage over #2 ... they can potentially attack him as he enters the ring I was soooo going to make that point but forgot in my tirade, thanks for the reminder. So in essence, Rey Mysterio is better then HBK.

I'm really interested how the commentary team is to deal with it. Maybe they can get away with not mentioning it this year, but surely, somewhere down the line, when the number 1 entrant enters, and they make note of who entered at 1 at won it etc etc. Sometime, Benoit's name is gonna have to come up. Not necessarily, didn't Rey win it at #1 and Shawn Michaels did as well, so if anything they could just mention those two guys.

I was there in the 4th row at the Wachovia Center in Philly, so I know who won the Rumble. The answer is God won the 2004 Royal Rumble, he was awesome the whole night! He entered in at #3 and seemed to be invisible all night, eliminating guys quickly and easily. In the end he powered up Big Show and threw him over the top.

I'm suddenly picturing this like the old Family Guy bit where Stewie and Brian were on a German tour bus, and the guide omitted anything in German history from 1939-1945. Let's WWE-ize that bit Brian: Yeah, about your Royal Rumble records...I'm not seeing anything about who won the Rumble in 2004. There's just a big gap. Mr. McMahon: ALL THE SUPERSTARS WERE ON VACATION! And then in 2005, the Rumble was won by Batis... Brian: Wait, wait, wait, w-what are you talking about? Chris Benoit won the 2004 Rumble and... Mr. Mcmahon: WE WERE INVITED! PUNCH WAS SERVED! CHECK WITH KEVIN DUNN! Brian: Wait, you can't just ignore those years. Chris Benoit won the Rumble from the #1 spot and won the World Title at Wrestlemania! Vince McMahon: Nope, nope. There was no Wrestlemania that year. Brian: No Wrestlemania? That's preposterous. Mr. Mcmahon: I WILL HEAR NO MORE INSINUATIONS ABOUT THE WWE! NO 2004 PPVS HAPPENED! YOU WILL SIT DOWN! YOU WILL SHUT UP! YOU WILL NOT INSULT THE WWE'S LEGACY!!!! *does nazi salute* Brian: *silence*..............................................Uh....So Rey Mysterio won the 2006 Rumble? Mr. McMahon: Oh, yes. Rey won from the #2 position, which is technically the same as #1, but we don't count that.
