...When they threw it over for the Royal Rumble intro, that it was going to be The FInk and not Michael Buffer?

Even more so, once it was Buffer was anyone waiting for the Wolfpac music or Hogan's nWo theme to hit, just out of old habit?

Lol, I do associate Buffer with the WCW days more than anything and I did get used to that for many years. I loved the intros he'd give "These three interlopers who want to take over the WCW with force, and as you can see there are only two..." one of my favorites from I believe Bash at the Beach 96. I thought they were going to do something lame and have Triple-H come out and interrupt Buffer with the "Let's get ready to suck it" for some reason.

I'm surprised he didn't start with "He is the master of the Tombstone Piledriver", but at least he showed form in forgetting Shawn Michaels' name.
