So...we know who we thought would win and we know actually won.
However, there were, as always, people who you know didn't stand a chance to win. Out of those, who do you think had the best showing?
Morrison, obviously, was doing quite well and the commentary put him 'over' during the match. I loved the part where he blocked Sweet Chin Music and then Enziguri'd HBK. Even better when the announcers were getting hyped for SCM when the reversal happened.
Cody Rhodes had some good moments. One I enjoyed was how he tackled Snitsky and almost knocked him out of the Rumble. Cool moment. Also, he got to be the end of a hot-streak of moves, catching Carlito with a Bulldog.
Speaking of Carlito, I thought he was done when Morrison & Punk caught him during the springboard back elbow, but the reversal, leading to the BackStabber on Punk was neat.
Shelton Benjamin looked amazing...for the 20 seconds he was there. Daggone it, WWE.
So, any opinions?

I loved the commentators' comparisons between Morrison and HBK - certainly a lot of similarities there to early HBK.

Cody Rhodes surprised me last night, but I'd have to say John Morrison was great at the Rumble.

I was very proud of Jamie Noble and Tommy Dreamer getting recognition, especially for Jamie since he isn't from NY, like Tommy. Either way, I loved the handling of the mid-carders in this rumble.

I thought Morrison was good - I'm also glad he got a decent reaction from the crowd.

Morrison has really convinced me that he deserves to get a massive push anytime they think he's ready. Cody Rhodes did a pretty good job in there too. Shelton lasted 24 minutes or so last year, and was eliminated by HBK for the second year in a row... This time, 20 seconds in.

HBK eliminated him in 2006 as well, when Shelton was one of the guys who promised Vince he was going to eliminate Michaels from the rumble.

John Morrison gets the Rick 'the Model' Martel Award this year. At one point he just came flying across screen and kicked someone in the face. I never saw where he jumped off from, but he kicked ass last night.

I think Punk and Morrison stood out the most to me. Just like the announcers said, Morrison reminded me of HBK and really looked good at times. Punk came in like a house of fire and took everyone in the ring down and got in some good offense on HBK and Taker which I would have never imagined happening at this point (the knee that took out Palumbo was sick looking).

He was mirroring HBK A LOT this year, wouldn't surprise me if WWE has BIG plans for morrison later down the line.

Santino's Promo...
Oh, the actual match? Shelton, Piper (good God I love me some Roddy Piper, before he takes his shirt off...) Morrison, Punk and Kennedy

1. Morrison for the win.
2. Santino's reaction to having to go in with HBK and Taker...a perfect mix of "Oh f***" and "I am Santino Marella!!"
3. Dreamer whaling on Taker while MSG chants "Tom-my Dream-er" clap-clap-clapclapclap

Morrison is the obvious one, but I also saw Cody Rhodes hold his own.
