And the next inductees: The Briscoes. Crowd falls silent.

I'am Surprised Jack Briscoe agreed given what he said after the tragedy last June.

Well, given what has happened with Jeff Hardy's second strike...
OK, so two more inductions to go right? Snake seems likely... last is either DiBiase or the Grahams. Thinking Grahams more likely now.

I'm really hoping they save the best for the last(besides Flair, of course) and Jake is announced as an inductee.

He Said that most of the WWE roster would be dead inside 30 years. Whoa. If anything, you'd think the WWE would've just skipped him over and denied his existance, not necessarily that Jack would refuse the spot or being associated with them. They fired Piper back in '03 for comments similar to this (a lot less severe than what Jack said, but Piper said it on HBO's Real Sports) Jerry's probably the (unintentional?) uniter here - the 'E owes him because he's been loyal to them so long, and Jack wouldn't say no if it meant his brother was screwed out of a HOF spot.

He Said that most of the WWE roster would be dead inside 30 years. Considering the age a lot of wrestlers die and the age of a lot of the guys, he's probably not too far off.

Jake Roberts addressed rumors regarding WWE's hall of fame in an interview claiming he was never contacted about being inducted. Roberts said he is in rehab to save his life, and he'll be out at the end of the month.

Good for the Briscoes to be inducted. I got a lot of respect for Jack Briscoe.

Not counting the first year they brought back the HOF for Mania weekend, have they ever kept the "inducted bys" so secret? The Rock is the only one they've announced. I remember in past years they announced in advance who would be inducting whom.
I guess we can speculate.
Ric Flair: Arn, Dusty, Steamboat, Triple H, Reid Flair Mae Young: A current WWE diva? A former diva (Trish...please!)? Surely not Mark Henry since he's a serious heel now. The Briscos: Pat Patterson? Piper? Superstar Graham?

I assume you'll get your filler inductors such as Lawler, JR, Heenan, and so on.
I mean I don't know why JR inducted Volkoff, to my knowledge they weren't close or anything.

There's much talk about the WWE Hall of Fame as not being legitimate as opposed to other wrestling halls of fame. I figured a comparison of the number of inductees the WWE Hall of Fame shares with the others might put things in perspective.
The WWE Hall of Fame currently has 62 members if you count the known inductees for the class of 2008.
-Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame This is often considered the most prestigious hall of fame. It has the most members at 173 inductees. This hall of fame also includes wrestlers of recent times such as Steve Austin, HHH, Shawn Michaels, Undertaker, Kurt Angle and the Rock. Of this group, 22 wrestlers are also in the WWE Hall of Fame.
-Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame The only hall of fame that actually has a building (located in upstate NY). The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame has approximately 81 members. Of that number, 20 are in the WWE Hall of Fame.
-NWA Hall of Fame Seems to be inactive since they haven't inducted a new member since 2006. Only 12 people have been inducted. Of the dozen inducted, only one is in the WWE Hall of Fame.
-WCW Hall of Fame Was abandoned by WCW after only three years. Most members actually made their name in NWA and Jim Crockett Promotions. This hall of fame has 17 members. The WCW Hall of Fame shares 5 members with WWE.
In case you were wondering, only one person has been inducted to all 5 halls of fame. That person is Harley Race.
For those that question the worthiness of inductees, the Brisco Brothers and Mae Young, keep in mind that other halls of fame saw fit to induct them. Wrestling Observer Newsletter inducted Jack Brisco. The Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame also inducted Jack along with his brother Gerald and Mae Young.

I doubt Heenan will be able to attend due to health reasons. Also, all of his inductions (Orndorff, Blackjacks, Bockwinkel) made total sense, so I wouldn't call him a "filler" inductor.

I don't get how that Observer HOF is the most prestigous considering it only exists in that online community, and well you know it's more of a list in who's the greatest. I'd consider that wrestling hall of fame in New York with memoribilia of guys like Flair, Race, Hogan, Andre, and Verne Gagne to be more prestigous, and I'd consider being in the WWE hall of fame to be even more prestigous as your career gets highlighted during the biggest weekend in pro wrestling, you make an appearrance on the biggest show in wrestling, and well it's way more known than the observer one.. but then eh. I'm really hoping for somebody like Yokozuna, Demolition, or the Road Warriors to get inducted this year

What's going on with the Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame in Upstate NY? Their website is still hinting that it's not open yet (moving from Schenectady to Amsterdam), and asking for donations to keep it alive.
Still, I consider that one to be the most legit, as it is free of politics and bias. The only thing I'm a little shocked at is that they still haven't inducted Capt. Lou Albano, largely considered the greatest manager ever.
