Say what you will about the Impact Zone, btu you have to give TNA credit for coming from Universal Studios Orlando. One of the positive benefits is that they have some great sets to work with on the tour. Last night, we got to see Black Reign's "workshop" again, and got to Shark Boy's home, as well as Judas Mesias' weird parlor thing and Abyss' weird backstage area
Now, I don't know for sure they're established already in the park, but all of those locations must have been taking advantage of USO's resources to create them, at the very least. And that's something I find different about them and WWE sometimes, especially after seeing Smackdown trying to pass off a backstage area in an arena as an Italian restaurant last month. Given, WWE does do a lot of location work for skits, but it seems like they've really tried to shoehorn as much stuff as possible in the arenas as they can. As wacky and out there as they may seem sometimes in TNA, the sets are very good at establishing mood and don't take you out of the moment.

I'd say there was an upside... but they took out Nick Studios, so any chance of seeing LAX Double Dare is now gone.

TNA after all is a much smaller company/promotion than WWE, and as such should take advantage of any built in benefits that Universal Studios offer. Granted that is a plus, but on the negative side sometimes the crowd in the Impact Zone can really kill the mood of an angle and/or match due to it usually comprising of the same die hard jaded fans.

I'm waiting for TNA to do a taping or just a skit with Olmec and have an X-Division match in his temple.

No. Deadly serious. As cheesy as it can get, it is good that they do have these things. WWE sometimes takes me out of it by having the same generic rooms and locker rooms serving as GM offices and crap like that. At least TNA is trying to establish some mood. And really, I would love to see a TNA Hardcore title just to see EY get chased around Universal Studios a la Crash Holly.

Yeah, but WCW did it too. And how campy were those Dungeon of Doom skits?

Really off topic, but I for one love Universal Studios. For my 17th birthday, my parents took me and my best friend who lived in Georgia down there. We stayed at one of the fancy resorts (Portofino Bay, dad has mad hook ups) that has ferry access to the Universal Studios parks, and we also got express passes. We musta rode Spiderman like 100 times in a row, that ride is the shit. I remember my parents let us destroy our mini fridge (seperate rooms FTW) and bought us expensive cigars and me and my buddy would just throw on some bathrobes, grab a few brews, and walk around the resort in bathrobes with cigars hangin outta our mouths and brews in our hands in pockets. That vacation kicked ass. The end.

I love it too, gives it that fun, big-time feel that WWE programming doesn't.
Yes, I know the ratings TNA gets in comparison to WWE highly disagree, but screw all that!
Theme park > Random arena

Theme park > Random arena Big time feel? Having a weekly show in the same studio is 'big time'? As opposed to being in arenas every week with upwards of 10,000 people paying to see you wrestle? It's not even a measure of ratings, its the atmosphere...
