So, I was listening to Konnan's talk show "5150: Real Talking" and he mentioned how Glenn "Disco Inferno" Gilbertti harps about how TNA isn't in trouble because it is getting it's highest ratings of all-time.
Konnan then brought up that the ratings dropped back to the normal 1.1 area the last week or so and basically said it was because of the writer's strike being settled and people with little else to watch returning to their normal shows.
Do you think that's true? Did the writer's strike get TNA some extra attention?
I'll admit that Konnan is definitely not a fan of TNA, but that comment does make some sense to me.

Didn't they get a 1.2 against a new episode of Lost?
Impact's ratings fluctuate. It'll be in the 1.1 - 1.2 range for a long while.

The writers strike mainly only effected late night talk shows. Everything else had a lot of pre-made episodes stored up.

I doubt it affected TNA or WWE at all. Had it lasted long enough for every other teleivision show to be forced to revert to reruns, it might've helped...but even that probably would have been minimal.

There wasn't a large increase in viewers from before the strike happened and when it ended. There was an increase it seemed about a week before it ended but if the strike were to affect TNA, we would've seen it months ago I think

Somehow I don't see people who are desperate for a hit of 30 Rock flipping to Spike on a Thursday night to watch iMPACT in hopes it's as witty as the writing of Tina Fey. But maybe it's just me.

I doubt the writers strike either helped or hurt TNA. I just know I've been watching LOST instead of Impact since it restarted.

Any help TNA might have received was infinitessimal at best. TNA still pretty much kept doing about the same ratings and same pay per view buys. Maybe 1 tenth of a ratings point. Hardly enough to start having ticker tape parades up and down the main street of Orlando, Florida over.
