I'm new to this whole TNA thing so forgive me. But why in gods name does Kurt Angle wear socks and wrestling shoes as opposed to boots? Is this a new thing or has he done this his entire TNA run?

I'm pretty sure he's done it his whole run in TNA. Didn't he do it before he left the WWE too?

He started it, at least the shoes, before he left the 'E. Though the socks are recent. I actually kinda think it's cool.

I like the shoes because of the whole greco-wrestling thing, but hate the socks lol

I think he just forgot his boots that day. He's been wearing boots pretty much the whole time

He started wearing shoes back when he was a complete injury wreck during his WWE run, before he went over to WWECW, and then got fired.
Back then, pretty sure Meltzer reported Angle was suffering from "drop foot", which can be temporary or permanent, but is usually caused by nerve damage in the neck and back, and you usually need special orthopedic shoes for it. That might be a reason for why he ditched the boots, which stinks, because I liked his old-school, blue Harley Race-looking boots he had there toward the end. Or maybe that foot stuff was newz.
Where in the hell have his kneepads been for the past couple months?

The socks are completely terrible. Kurt needs his old (old) white or red boots back. I always hated his goofy looking red and blue boots though:

I would of thought socks would be banned from the wrestling atire code or something.
His feet must get incredibly sweaty after matches.

Is this a big deal honestly? So what if he wearing Amatur wrestling shoes, it fits him because that what he was before wrestling and was a gold Metalist in that. Which being that he reminds us that every week.
I don't buy into that neck and foot nerve damage at all for being the reason. That hold foot stuff came around about 2 years before he even started with the wrestling shoes. The fact that Angle been in TNA for over a year now and been healthy all this time should tell you that he not the banged up guy people always think he is. Not like Angle is the first wrestler in history to wear them. Bob Backlund did it. Hell Mick Foley has been wearing what looks like Tennis shoes for years.
The knee pads I don't know what the deal is but not a big deal but I he did look better with him.
