Well umm there is this whole NCAA tourney thing Ok. I hate to be "this guy" but I'm going to. I did this in one of the WWE rating threads this week too. NOBODY on this board knows precisely what affects ratings and by how much. Hell I'd say not even the Neilsen people know, it's too impercise, you can only guess. Sure, blame the NCAA tourney this week, but what will you blame after that when the ratings don't climb back up to 1.2? Lost? the 10 o'clock news? Maybe, just maybe, the show quality was to blame, but we can't even be sure of that either unless it's a very significant drop-off (then again, losing 200k people over 2 weeks consistently could be indicative of either NCAA taking away viewers OR viewers leaving) The point is you can only be sure by looking at buyrates, as painful as that must be at times.

I guess ill be "one of those guys" also, and say that right as the two NCAA games that were on either became blowouts, or finished up, the rating jumped to 1.25.
You are right, though. We dont know.

Exactly, though that does give a lot of credence to the idea that yes, the NCAA games are largely responsible.

That was me you pointed it to in the WWE thread earlier in the week. I realize it is hard to pinpoint exactly how many regular wrestling viewers tune out in favor of the NCAA tournament, but common sense goes a long way in this discussion. Again, for the record, I called the tournament into play in this thread to be fair. I'm sure the quality of TNA's programming hurt their ratings more than anything.

There were over 70,000 fans at WrestleMania.
That's almost a full .1 of a rating... so maybe everyone that went to see WrestleMania live was a Nielsen household?
Otherwise, I figure the NCAA stole some of the audience.
