I've been watching the BG v. Kip Rough Cuts on Impact and was actually pretty impressed by them. They managed to pull me into this lil' match and I haven't been a fan of either since they left WWE.
So the question is - should TNA orientate thier promos to be more like Rough Cuts with wrestlers basically doing taped promos outside of the Impact Zone?

I think they should. If they didn't, and Kip and BG just came out and yelled at eachother........UGH!

If they do it on people who are actually interesting, yes.
Otherwise, f*** no

not all of them, but a rough cuts every few episodes to help set up a feud would be cool

The rough cut segments actually make the BG/Kip feud interesting.

Depends on the feud. Something personal like this it works well. We don't need to see "Ruff Cuts: Super Eric & Black Reign", though.
And it certainly doesn't hurt that BG James is one of the better talkers in the company.

Well as others said, the "Rough Cut" made the BG vs Kip feud. Hell YES.

I would like to see Black Machismo (in a serious tone, not this comedic Randy Savage tone) do this in order to restore the X-Division title's prestige. The biggest drawback is that almost every performer is too comedic to pull this off. Seriously, can you imagine Rough Cuts with any of the following people?: Eric Young Steiner ODB Kong & Saied Velvet Love Current A. J. Styles Shark Boy

I think they should also do it with more people, not just BG and Kip James. Maybe they should replace traditional interviews with Rough Cut segments. I like these alot better than the traditional interview segments which always feature the poor girl standing there looking like a deer caught in the headlights or a guy looking like the retarded kid who just pooped his pants.

I like the presentation of it. I would've blocked the Kip/BG feud out of my mind completely if they would have done this with the typical screaming wrestling interviews. I'm looking forward to see which feuds/characters they use "Rough Cuts" for after Lockdown.
I also like how recently on IMPACT!, they've changed the way they shoot the Mike Tenay sitdown interviews, face-to-face with more closeups, making them look like something from "60 Minutes". That's a 1,000% improvement over the way they used to shoot Tenay sitdowns, which looked like those old "Chris Farley Show" sketches on SNL.
I know it's wrestling, so it's always going to be corny to the people that think it's "fake" or "don't get it", but I like TNA adding more "serious businezz" touches like these to the show, it helps make it look less corny.

Kong and Saieed, i could totally see rough cuts for them. Esp. in a feud with Roxxi. Though they'd prolly have Roxxi living in some voodoo house and make it cheesy. But i could see the former two having cool promo's where Saieed talks and Kong is in the background (maybe at a rundown factory or something) pacing back and forth and breaking stuff. Scratch that. i just want to see Kong pace and break stuff. not inside the ring.
