Just got back from the IMAX showing about fifteen minutes ago, which was awesome...
However, the fact that I'm on here and my lady friend is back at her place is not awesome, as it means the Batman sleeps alone tonight. If I had known the date would end this early, I would've had my friends wait a bit before hitting the bars so I could join them.

I just got back from the movie and it's the third time I watched it. I noticed two things. One thing that was... stupid... even in it's badassness. And another thing that supports my Harvey Dent isn't really dead theory.
The stupid thing... is Batman bending the barrell of that gun to start the movie off with.
The Dent thing, is the fact that the public didn't know what happened to Harvey since the explosion at the hospital anyway. To a third of the city he was M.I.A., another third probably would think he was dead. While it is true that Gordon said to tell the public that they got him out of there, how much sense would it make for the police to tell the public "Yes, we got him out, he's safe." then the next day "Harvey Dent is dead." That would look rather suspicious on the police's part.

There is so much depth to the character as he was built in this movie that it would be really easy to tell a good story about him and his relationships with Batman, Bruce Wayne, and Gordon.

Damn this movie is good. I want to see it again. My IMAX plans with my friend got delayed. I have to wait 2 weeks! ![>:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/angry.png) Also, Batman, the pure panic the city was in at the end there would also play into them not really knowing what was going on with Dent in the first place. It would be so easy to lock him up in Arkham, pin his crimes on Batman to keep the people from being suspicious, and never let a soul know.

Imagine the chaos in the city when they find out Dent is alive and running amok... Or if he has resumed his duties as D.A., but does his evil deeds secretly, blaming them all on Batman. The possibilities are nearly endless.

...still wants Two-Face to be alive, while Dent is dead, so that the 'human' side is a rotting corpse. I'm not even usually the type to ask for something so wrong, but it'd be a nice visual for about two minutes. The stupid thing... is Batman bending the barrell of that gun to start the movie off with. I have no clue what that means. Not your fault, just know nothing about guns or their barrels. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

It makes perfect sense.

Even if Batman was strong enough to do it, the guy holding the gun would have to be strong enough to hold down his end of the gun with equal force.
A better thing for them to have done to prove Bats strength would have been him grabbing the barrell and bringing it down, ripping the handle away from the holder and having it hit him in the face. It would have shown Batman just ripping something from someone with nothing more then a twist of his hand, it would be a kick ass way for him to beat somebody up, and it would have made sense.

That would be too similar to the party scene where Bruce takes the gun from the Joker's thug, beats him down, and then takes the gun apart. EDIT: ... And now I officially sound like a nerd who has seen this movie too many damn times.

But the bending the barrel part was just a little much. Awesome... but more of a Superman move.

But the bending the barrel part was just a little much. Awesome... but more of a Superman move. Alright, alright. He shouldn't have bent the gun barrel. A simple kick to the face would have sufficed.

I thought he could bend the gun barrel because of the electromagnetic gimmickry in his gloves for the cape.

Well, the cape is MADE to react to that. That may have been their reasoning though. Still, if he had enough jolt to melt metal like that I'd hate if accidently touched someone with it on. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png) But that may be a good point Void. I say may be because I'll have to look more into it.

Al Snow would be perfect as the Joker, because Joker no sold every punch in the movie! Can you say "new sig caption?" Though, it'd kinda make more sense in the avatar, but, whatever. And, who knew Anthony Michael Hall was capable of playing the part he did? Well, besides anyone who's ever seen "The Dead Zone" I mean ;D

Didn't Batman have some kind pressurized air device on his arm that increased his armor's ability to bend metal? You could hear the air hiss before he bent the gun, and you could then see it on his arm as he was punching through the Scarecrow's van and bending the metal of the wall.

STOP!
Let me end the "bending the gun barrel" debate this second.
Remember what Batman has on his hand in the first scene? The metal thing he uses to rip apart the side of Scarecrow's van?
THAT'S what he uses to bend the gun barrel, not just his natural strength.

Yeah, probably one of Lucius' new additions in the "invisible movie" between this and "Batman Begins"

Okay, well I remember him reaching down and pulling that thing out AFTER he got through beating everyone's ass and was on the truck. Not before hand. Also, I remember no hiss when he bent that barrel. Ripping metal apart, and bending it is to completely different things anyway.
When I see it again I will verify this either way.
