The Wrestling Observer is reporting that prior to his debut, one idea pitched for SmackDown Superstar Ryan Braddock was for him to be brought in as the cousin of John Bradshaw Layfield. However, Layfield saw him work a few dark matches and felt Braddock projected himself too much as a mid-carder. As a result, Layfield nixed the idea. WWE felt that Braddock had been in developmental forever and needed to justify their investment in him, hence his recent call-up to the main roster. However, he appears to be in the James Curtis position of putting over wrestlers getting pushed. The feeling is that guys will get over with wins over Braddock because he's a big guy. Also, Braddock did a gimmick similar to JBL for years in developmental by wearing a white towel and short black jacket. That's great, coming from a guy who spent his whole career as a midcarder up until 2004. So this means that Super Crazy is getting a push now? That who beat him for a couple weeks.

Uh, the guy is one of the best heels in the company and is probably the single best talker employed by the WWE at this time. Yeah, he's not all that great when wrestling an actual match, but he's great at pretty much everything else. And in WWE, wrestling great matches plays second fiddle to getting over, which can be done through superior mic work (like JBL) or by jobbing left and right (like Santino). Would like to point out to you that Jibbles has been jobbing left and right recently too. Especially to a certain CM Punk, who has OWNED JBL every single time out. Also, love the idea of Bradshaw going broke as part of stock market crash. Couple this with the utter emasculation of the Charlie Haas thing, and if WWE had good writers, they could make something of it. WWE does NOT have good writers, they have AVERAGE writers. Those AVERAGE writers make millions, and make and break careers. Good writing= TNA

JBL is a glorified midcard/semi main event guy who should have never been world champ. He doesn't have the look, the wrestling ability and most importantly a storied history of past championships or accomplishments. Yeah the guy could talk hence the reason why he was the best color guy since Jesse Ventura and thats where he should of stayed. As And Kahli should have been one?

This could work..... In the locker-room, JBL sits alone, holding a sheet of paper in his hand. His face is blank, and ashen. As the camera man comes up, JBL looks at him and says: JBL: It's gone. All gone. My companies are going under....I'm on the brink of ruin. Punk has defeated me time and time and time again.....and my GOD, look at my BODY! I'm falling apart! This....this is the end for JBL. I am finished. Done. Might as well just go home for good. He sits down on the bench, and buries his head in his hands. Offscreen, we hear footsteps approaching and see a pair of black boots come into the frame. Camera pans up and we see RON SIMMONS. Simmons: ...... Simmons: ....... Simmons: (Crowd is waiting for the DAMN! but instead...) John. Look at me John. Up here. I know you aint no quitter, John Layfield. You never have been, and aint never gonna be. You made yourself a millionaire once, and by God you can do it again. But you know what I think you need right now? I think you need a shot of the "Good Ol Days". You wanna go grab a beer or five, and then come back here and kick the hell out of some young punk asses? JBL: *Smiling* You DAMN right I do! Camera fades out as the two old friends walk out of the building. Good idea makes me sad it won't happen.

There's usually a once-a-week call for a new Nation Of Domination, but I think we need a new J.O.B. Squad. Put Goldman, Braddock and maybe Estrada in there. Good times can be had, I think.

"The only reason you were champ for a year was because Triple H didn't want to work Tuesdays!" Heyman to JBL
Whenever I see JBL or hear his name mentioned, that's all I can think of....

Really. World Title or not, I never saw JBL as anything more than the midcarder he always was. That was one reason I hated his title reign. Lame. Exactly. In fact these days, despite WWE's insistence to cram him into the world title picture, I see JBL as even less than mid-card. That guy is a jobber.
