Because I'm really not.
I don't want to deal with my family this year, I don't want to be belittled because I have no cash for gifts. I don't want to spend two days arguing with my mom.
What I really want to do is get in my jeep and drive as far as I can go. Disappear.

I concur with everything. If I got better gas mileage, I'd suggest running away together.

They're the closest link to your past and the ones most likely to be there for you in the future. Or you could just throw in the towel and regret doing neither for the rest of your life. Its strictly up to you.

I have been mixed on The holiday season. I want shopping part done as for as the holiday hours and the insanty that goes with it. But the days with my family (Eve and day) that I want to last for me. I just want it to be here.
I am sick of work the retail end of things and listening to the Christmas Music over and over for a month.

I'm already looking for a second job and my family business is close to being shut down. That last sentence seems really harsh considering how tough some people have it.

I hate getting gifts, and I'll hate the fact that my sister will have a boyfriend to go to, my mom will have friends to go to, and I will have...a 360.
...So, yeah...I've learned to not be excited by Christmas.

Yeah, I've been out of work since September and relying on the goodness of my family to get by. When a college degree and rapidly upward movement since graduation can't even get an interview in a city the size of Chicago, then times are pretty damn bad for a lot of folks.

Theres plenty of jobs out there despite the woeful cries of the media and the ongoing recession. Not saying youre buying cars and homes or even jewlery for your family, but just the "Woe is me i want to run off the face of the Earth because I cant afford gifts" mentality is awfully weak, and more than certainly an excuse to just avoid your family.

I've got twelve applications in at various places in this town. I'ts not like I'm not trying here.

Theres jobs out there if you're just looking for spending cash and not botching interviews and have graduated high school. Admittedly if you're still in HS the job market is llimited because some older people who are either laid off or collecting are swooping in and grabbing those jobs pretty quick.

Getting a job is not as simple as "'I'm looking for a job.' 'What are your qualifications?' 'I have two legs, two arms, and I can make loud noises with a recorder.' 'You're hired.'"
I once interviewed at Wal*Mart and got shut down. WAL*MART!!! They hire special people and the elderly at Wal*Mart and they passed on my fat ass!!!

Who can't "Go get money"? ...the guy in the post above yours? Just have a tough time beleiving it, sorry. Maybe theres a better job market here in Mass, but I've had two open positions Im dying to hire people for that requires warehouse work that starts at $18 an hour 40 hours, health, dental 401K and im getting people to turn it down. Theres jobs out there. Not dream jobs but solid work that will put some cash in your pocket.

No, but at least I'm a one woman guy. I only harass and frighten one woman at a time. Well see, I'll harass one, but save the frightening for another. Thats the smart way.
