Getting a job is not as simple as "'I'm looking for a job.' 'What are your qualifications?' 'I have two legs, two arms, and I can make loud noises with a recorder.' 'You're hired.'" I once interviewed at Wal*Mart and got shut down. WAL*MART!!! They hire special people and the elderly at Wal*Mart and they passed on my fat ass!!! Yeah but they'll make less than you and Wal MArt wont have to pay any benfits to them cuz theyre covered by social security.

I've got twelve applications in at various places in this town. I'ts not like I'm not trying here. Theres seasonal help everywhere. Theres jobs out there if you're just looking for spending cash and not botching interviews and have graduated high school. Admittedly if you're still in HS the job market is llimited because some older people who are either laid off or collecting are swooping in and grabbing those jobs pretty quick. I'm not looking for spending cash. I'm looking to pay my bills. I'm looking to feed my face. I'm looking to be able to finish paying my rent this month. I'm tired of living hand to mouth, and I'm tired of having to defend myself to my parents every chance they get.

I'm not looking for spending cash. I'm looking to pay my bills. I'm looking to feed my face. I'm looking to be able to finish paying my rent this month. I'm tired of living hand to mouth, and I'm tired of having to defend myself to my parents every chance they get. I dont know you or your parents, so I'll ignore that aspect entirely. It may be possible they're too overbearing and just making life difficult, if thats the case some space during the holidays probably wont hurt. If you're still releativly young then you still need to find your footing in the world. I double majored in Psychology and English graduated towards the top of my class Cum Laude and now I work in sales of tractors, fertilizer and pesticides. My degrees = meaningless. Dont give up, keep looking, and if your parents are giving you crap its more than liekly because they feel you can be better. Take it more as motivation than ridicule. If they have faith in you prove to them thier faith was well worth it. IF they truely dont think you'll be a success prove them wrong. Just dont become disheartened because its hard. Trust me my early 20's were a morass of negativity and I was a borderline a-hole and alocoholic because of it. Get yourself on a track for the future. You're not in a race against anyone but yourself. People in the world have a hard enough time trying to live up to their own goals and ideals they et for themselves to truely spend enough time thinking about how someone else is living their life even if its their own son. Just appriciate who they are and what they've done because someday they really will be gone and regret with no oppertunity for redemption is living hell.

Oh well...
Tomorrow I'll be at some family friend's for an extended dinner, with the sit-com-style cheery atmosphere. Something I'm not really down with this year. Loud and jolly families exchanging gifts, complete with little kids and someone dressing up as Santa... PLEASE SHOOT ME NOW!
Christmas day and Boxing day at my uncle's. That's ok, but I really wanted to stay home at lest on the 26th. Two days in a row are too much to bear. Not to mention the fact my dad and my uncle are just not clicking with eachother, so there's always room for some awkward moments.
Gifts, I'm not too worried about. There isn't something I really want, so whatever I'll get it's fine/marginal.
Basically I'd prefer to be on my own, with the sole exception of Xmas day [but just for like a couple of hours]. This year being single is really killing me. Spending like 3 days with families with kids, happy couples and happily engaged people is not a great way to explore your own singleness...

Well, go get money so you can afford gifts Or you could just throw in the towel and regret doing neither for the rest of your life. Its strictly up to you. I graduated back in May with 2 degrees and am STILLseeking employment. This is not by choice.

To me Christmas feels like any other day. It loses it's luster once you hit your teens and it goes from there until you basically view it as a pain in the ass. I don't hate it, I just don't see the point anymore.

I'm not excited about Christmas because I don't celebrate it.
I hate this time of year, though.

I'm looking forward to a low-key Christmas this year. My father had a near-fatal heart attack last month so it puts everything in perspective.
What annoys me is people who convince themselves into hating something like Christmas. "Everybody's going to be so happy and stuff I JUST CAN'T TAKE IT!" No wonder some people are lonely, they give nobody else a chance.
