Yeah I think Scrooged is the best out of all of them. The muppets one was actually pretty good too.

The only one I've ever liked was the Muppets. That makes me sound so uncultured but its true.

When I was a kid, I loved the Disney one where Scrooge McDuck was Scrooge.
Then I watched Scrooged.

Good - Scrooged, Mickey's, the one with Patrick Stewart and the one with George C. Scott.
Bad - Bugs Bunny, hmm I can't think of any others off the top of my head but probably the ones where they just use it as the theme for a shows christmas episode.

The one with George C. Scott reigns supreme over all versions of A Christmas Carol

Love the Muppet one used to be on Network 2 every year when I was growing up. Also gotta give props to the version starring Patrick Stewart.

I just saw the Blackadder version, pretty top notch if you're into that sort of thing.

The one with George C. Scott reigns supreme over all versions of A Christmas Carol Without question!! The George C. Scott version is fantastic. I have to admit I've warmed up a bit to the musical version "Scrooge" from 1970 as well....if only because I find the Thank You Very Much number so catchy. As for the worst version...I don't know if it was the worst, but the one with Patrick Stewart just seemed unnecessary (because the George C. Scott one was so awesome and all).

Oh and when I was a kid there was a comedy version of it on HBO called "Rich Little's A Christmas Carol". It was Rich Little playing every part, but he was playing each part as other celebrities. For example he was playing Mrs. Cratchett as if he were Edith Bunker. It was very funny.

The first minute of the VENTURE BROTHERS Christmas Special a few years back. But seriously - the Disney one and Scrooged. I wanted to see the Patrick Stewart one this year but I missed most of it (on TNT I think?)

"Scrooged" was hilarious. And, the George C. Scott version is just fantastic. I would say the worst version of "A Christmas Carol" would have to be Ebeneezer Piper: www.wrestlecrap.com/jotw.html

The George C. Scott had some scary scenes. I also liked that in this version we don't see him become this jolly old man who laughs and dances. He just becomes a better person. As for the other end of the spectrum, I have always loved The Muppet Christmas Carol. Michael Caine could have played a Scrooge in any other production so he was perfectly cast. Nice songs too. I really care for the frog Tiny Tim more than in other versions.

The darker nature of the George C. Scott one is what I really liked, it really drew you into his world.
A lot of Christmas Carols almost have the ghosts showing Scrooge the past and present, and kinda want him to feel bad on his own. Then suddenly the ghost of Xmas future shows up, shows him his grave, and at that point Scrooge repents.. almost as if to say, "Holy crap, I didn't realize I would die eventually!"
In the GCS version, though, the ghosts make him feel like shit the entire time. Everytime a mistake is made, they ride him for it.. everytime Scrooge refuses to show remorse, they cake it on to MAKE him feel horrible...which is their intent. The ghosts weren't there to show him a good time, reminisce, and hope he turns good.... their intent was to shove how horrible he had been in his face, and who's suffering because of it, and the fact it won't yield him anything in the end.
Plus, the Ghost Of Xmas Yet To Come was just badass.... never speaking, just that badass banshee howl.... by then you could tell Scrooge was completely frazzled by Xmas Past mocking him and Xmas Present being such a smartass to him the entire time, that by the time the third ghost came... Scrooge was basically pissing himself.
That and the fact that it seemed like they went out of their way to find the most sympathetic Tiny Tim they possibly could. It looked like he could die at any second.
.. .although I have to admit, if someone would've kicked the cane out from underneath them, I would've laughed.
