I've had yahoo as my homepage ever since I had a computer. lately though i'm really sick of it. I like having the news headlines right there, but the cutesy youtube videos and latest celeb sightings I can do without-It's gotten really bad with that shit as of late.
However I still would like to know if someone famous died(not that I look forward to it, I just wanna be in the know) and basic stuff like that. Not actually world events and such, and I've toyed with the thought of making off topic my homepage, because you guys pick up stuff fast
What do you recommend?

Hmmmm, I like-and I'm fascinated with the UK as well! I much prefer BBC news to other places. One, because it's really professional and two, it's read/reported in a un-biased manner. The other lot over here (ITN) are really depressive and maudlin in their reporting.

I like the BBC website but their news is often biased (especially their current middle-east coverage), although they do cover their own screw-ups. It's still good though. Maybe you could find a combination of things you're interested in on i-google.

I love that every day, they have the same two stories back-to-back ("Your kids are fat" and "Don't let your kids outside")

You could create a iGoogle page and customize it so it never gets old to you or have anything you don't want on it.
