www.animalattack.info/japcovers/Most of these are low-budget monster flicks, a lot of them are of the Sci-Fi Channel variety; but check out the 5 pages worth of DVD covers for them. They blow the hell out of the versions released over here.

You know if the Drive-In hadn't died in the 80s, most of these Sci-Fi Original/DTV movies would've played there. Some of those are pretty good, but a bunch of them looked like their American counterpart covers, just with Kanji in place of English text. Still, though, Queen Kong looks pretty awesome. ;D

US: Japan:

Why do our covers have to be so super generic (the UK same as US)? People would definitely be more enticed by even lame attempts to make them interesting.

Hey, I have some of those low-budget movies at home. They're all terrible in a horribly entertaining fashion.

Does anyone else have this strange desire to watch this catastrophe? Watch it hell, I *own* the bloody thing. It has a couple of cool moments, but yeah, it's generally pretty stupid.

Speaking of low budget monster movies. Is Dragon Wars worth watching? For a good laugh, absolutely. As a film, not so much. Seriously, they have a long scroll-crawl at the beginning, a huge flashback segment and characters constantly explaining what's happening and I *STILL* didn't know what the hell was happening. But it has giant lizards with rocket launchers, so it's a total win.

Does anyone else have this strange desire to watch this catastrophe? yes, I lol'd at the title. I'd love to see them all if I could. If I can sit through "Leeches", then I can watch these.
