Jose Theodore has to be the worse goaltender in hockey. No way. That's Andre "Red Light" Racicot. He was a Habs back up goaltender that was so bad...it was incredible. I will never forget this, but the Canadiens had a game in Winnipeg against the Jets and they fired the puck from their end (around where their goalie is). The puck went down the ice.....sliding along.....and Racicot was standing in his net watching it. It slides and slides, comes closer and closer...he stands there watching it. It still slides towards him and he finally moves. He lifts his leg up to let it pass (!!!!) and it goes right into the net! It was the game winning goal. Theodore is terrible, but Racicot makes him look like the greatest goalie in history. Edit: The puck wasn't rushing either at a 100 miles an hour...but crawling along the ice. To be fair to Red Light, that is what is known as a Hardy Special. The goal in the Youtube Vid is also a Hardy Special. Don Cherry dubs any goal scored from the red line out as a Hardy Special in "honour" of his Colorado Rockies goalie Hardy Astrom, who had a penchant for letting in weak goals. Grapes tells a story about his first practice in Colorado. He's gonna do break-out drills. Grapes is at center ice and will shoot the puck at Astrom, who's to stop it, play it into the corner and they break out. Grapes' first two shots, he scores. He went home and said, "Rose, don't bother unpacking...."

Well early word is Patrick Elias did not practice and Sutter "hopes" he can play... MArtin still out with upper body soreness again. This will be ridiculous if Elias doesn't play still is even if he does.

Holy cow - I didn't even realise that Cherry book existed!!! I'm buying this one that's for damn sure. I highly recommend reading "Grapes" - his biography. Pretty funny stuff in there and I love the story about him meeting his in-laws for the first time. He was also a Hab (who never got called up)! Speaking of the Habs, we'll be beating the Leafs on Saturday.

One of my advisors (who's canadian and is getting me into hockey) told me a Don Cherry story about Phil Esposito.
Phil Esposito made it clear he didn't want to go to the Rangers. When Cherry (Who I believe was the Boston coach at the time) found out that Esposito got dealt, he and another guy went to the hotel to tell Phil. He said "Phil, you've been dealt." Esposito replied that if it was to the Rangers, he'd jump out the window. Cherry then told the other guy to "well...open the window" ;D

Bruins with another 5 goal showing. Blake Wheeler has been impressive so far.

Still, a great story. Actually, the book is somewhat of a tedpid read. There's zero organization to the book. One minute he's talking about 1959, the next it's 1987. It's a fun, light read, but Grapes is definately better. Besides, there's not nearly enough Eddie Shore stories in his new book. Eddie Shore stories are right next to Andre stories as the best ever told.

They need to go back to these as their alternate instead of having the ones they have now with the guy from the Vachon cakes on the shoulder

Nice little Stars debut for Mark Parrish last night.
I guess he thought, well I just signed with the team, might as well have a hat trick!

I'm sure Sergei Gonchar & Ryan Whitney appreciate the gesture. Neither have skated this season and Gonch is expected to be out until well after the All Star break. Whitney though, has been skating. He's damned sure not All Star caliber though.
