Ok, so I got a Wii from my sister for Christmas and am looking for some good games. I have Wii Sports, SmackDown vs. Raw 2009, and I just bought Nights: Journey of Dreams (hey, I'm a fan of the Saturn game, so why not?). Now, next on my list to get are 4 games: No More Heroes, Mario Galaxy, Twilight Princess, and Super Paper Mario. I've got it down to Galaxy and Twilight Princess, as they're about the same price everywhere I go and are supposedly the best games for the system. I am a big, long time follower of both Zelda and Mario series and I was just wandering what you people would suggest? Also, if you have any good suggestions, let me hear them. Thanks, as always .

Super Paper Mario is not a rpg. That game should be 4th on your list. No More Heroes and Mario Galaxy are the best 2. Twilight Princess was originally a Gamecube game thats why I'd pick it 3rd.

Fourth on my list is No More Heroes. While the gore and hack/slash gameplay is fun, the free-roaming is boring, repetitive, and hardly worth the stress.
Third, Super Paper Mario. It's fun the first time around, but odds are, the first time you play it start to finish will be your last. After you're done with the story, the only things really left to do are the Flipside Pit of 100 Trials, the Flopside Pit of 100 Trials (twice), and the 100 warriors of Chapter 6. A crapload of 100s in this game.
Number two, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. This game is beyond awesome. It kicks so much ass that it's got a line of asses around the block waiting to be kicked by it. However, as has been stated, it's available for the GameCube as well (the only difference is that west in one version is east in the other and vice-versa). Get one or the other--depends on whether you want to work your arms or your thumbs.
Super Mario Galaxy is a must-own for Wii owners. And that's not hyperbole--I'm flat-out telling you, with threat of death after a 30-day deadline, to collect $49.99, go out and buy it at your first opportunity.

screw new games; just grab the awesome stuff on the virtual console! That's what I've been doing... they just released Startropics 2 for the Wii store... such a nostalgic game for me. I also didn't have an N64 when they came out (I was always a PS guy after it launched), so I'm trying classics such as Ocarina of Time, Mario 64, and Paper Mario for the first time... great deal, at 10 dollars per 64 game.

If I were to rank those four games I would say Mario Galaxy first, Zelda second, No More Heroes third and Super Paper Mario fourth. The stories you've likely heard about the Wii having a weak single player library are true. Besides the ones you mentioned, the only single player games that are absolutely "must have" are Mega Man 9 (second best game of the year imo), Metroid Prime 3 and Wario Land Shake It.
There are some great multiplayer titles though. Boom Blox is surprisingly excellent, Brawl and Mario Kart are everything you'd expect them to be, and Mario Strikers Charged is extremely underrated. In fact, I consider Strikers to be this gen's best multiplayer game so far.

What's with this World Of Goo game? Is it worth a download?
I know it's been getting good reviews, but is it really worth the 15 dollars or so?

I haven't played it yet myself, but my brother downloaded it a month ago and he says it's a fun little puzzle game. I'm planning on downloading it before I start classes again in January, so I'll give my impressions then.

Mario Kart smurfing blows goats. I am an original MK mark, and I hate that damned game on Wii.
Get Wario Land Shake it. Zak and Wiki. Harvey Birdman

The free roaming in No More Heroes was that way cause it was symbolism. It symbolized that Travis' life was stressful, repetitive, and boring. Remember, Goichi Suda loves doing artsy games with tons of symbolism. Any flaws in his games were intentionally put there by him. Really the must own titles for the Wii are: - Super Mario Galaxy - No More Heroes - Mario Kart Wii - Twilight Princess - Brawl - Super Paper Mario - NiGHTS - Metroid Prime 3 - Zak & Wiki - Okami - Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition - Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles(the best on rails shooter on the Wii) And from how they are shaping up, MadWorld and The Conduit look like must have games as well.

One game to COMPLETELY avoid is the soon to come out Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop. A VERY poorly made Wii-port of Dead Rising. Capcom said they'd be able to get around 100 zombies on screen at once, but you'll be lucky to get more than 10 ACTUAL zombies on screen. There are a few parts with 100 zombies on screen, but most of the zombies in those parts aren't actual targets, they are animations. Furthermore, the zombies look like ass. I mean the look like PlayStation 1 graphics. All the other graphics were perfectly fine, really.
Damn it, Capcom, why waste all of our time with porting Dead Rising, when you either could've made Dead Rising 2 for the 360/PS3 of work on a Wii-port of Resident Evil 5?

By people who actually had to pay for it/fans of the first game? No. It basically got the Sonic Unleashed reception. Critics hated the HELL out of it, but actual consumers loved it. As for House of the Dead 2 & 3, pretty fun for a budget title. The only bad part is they limit your credits....... The new House of the Dead looks interesting, same with Fatal Frame IV.

I don't care what anyone says, my friends and I have had incredible amounts of fun with Mario Superstar Baseball. It takes 2 hours to unlock everyone, and once you do, whip out the second Wii-Mote, invite a friend, and have fun.
Plus, since it didn't sell that well, it's probably pretty cheap now!

Speaking of Mario sports games, Mario Strikers Charged is a pretty fun football/soccer game. Yoshi is cheap as hell, though....
OH! And I can't forget about Mushroom Men!

Super Mario Galaxy is CRAZY fun.
Twilight Princess is good too, but not as good as Galaxy, in my opinion. Haven't played Super Paper Mario yet, but been meaning to pick it up someday. You should check out Super Smash Bros. Brawl too, I was surprised with how much stuff there is to do in it.
