Ryan Reeves and Chris Cage Re-Signed

-It's being reported that WWE has signed several names from Ohio Valley Wrestling including Ryan Reeves, Chris Cage and Gavin Garrison. Although WWE severed ties with Ohio Valley Wrestling a while back, the company still views the organization as a good resource for talent.

As Nick Paglino noted earlier, f4wonline.com reported several "new" signings by WWE of guys from OVW...these are not, in two out of three cases, new signings rather they are re-signings as both "Silverback" Ryan Reeves & Chris Cage (Kristopher Pavone) were under previous WWE development deals and were released.

Cage was released from WWE in March 2005 for what were said to be disciplinary reasons. While in OVW he was an OVW Champion & teamed with the Miz.

Reeves was released from WWE in January 2007. Reeves release followed a wellness violation. Reeves appeared in Tough Enough 4, and was signed thereafter. He was 1st assigned to Deep South Wrestling then moved to OVW. In OVW he wrestled in single competition and teamed with Jon Bolan as High Dosage (questionable name at best).



The Silverback Attack is back! I'm kind of excited to see how much Reeves has improved. I know he's been working other indys for a while since he got let go.

Chris Cage was always someone I thought was a shame that he didn't get called up. I'm happy he's got another chance, because he's pretty talented.

Wow, that was fast. Ryan Reeves has been build up on OVW tv with vingettes for weeks, has been made the OVW Champion, and now is being shipped up to WWE. I guess someone is gonna end up squashing Ryback pretty soon before he leaves. I guess Anthony Bravado is getting his belt back.

By the way, while Ryback still looks jacked up, he definitely lost a lot of size from when he was in Tough Enough. And as for Chris Cage, that guy did a lot just to be trained in OVW, and it's good to see him getting a second chance.

Reeves will be an interesting case since he is first one to be rehired after failing wellness. Will he have a clean slate or still have some strikes against him should he fail?

He'll probably be on a short leash. Likely something that came up, kind of like how Raven when he came to WWE was on a short leash, since they knew he had a past with heroine.

Apparently the original plan for Chris Cage was to team him up with The Miz and make them a face tag team, more like the 21st Century Rockers or something like that, but that was stopped when Cage showed up for vignettes in no condition to perform.
