Today was the first day of the month that wasn't a holiday, so it was a crowded time for food shopping as all the LINK card folks had got their money and were out at the store en mass(nothing against em but thats why it was crowded). So me and family are trying to get into the cooler with all the meats and lo and behold there are like 5 carts all lurking around it unable to open one of the doors because a lone man with a full dirty looking beard and massive beer gut is blocking it. The guy is taking hot dog packages in big bunches, counting them one at a time and dropping them into his cart. Then he grabs some back and puts them one at a time into the cooler again. Then he again grabs packs and recounts the same product again. He then repeats this process with the little deli packs of chicken...then ham...then beef. All in all I'd say he held up about 15-20 people for 8-10 minutes. Now I realize that any given shopper coulda moved on but I was getting intrigued with the spectacle and wanted to see how long this guy would be in the way.
I just found it a novel and unique day in shopping for me and thought I'd share it.

The grocery near my store has a "discount" rack. Usually, it's crushed boxes, dented cans and occassionally some discontinued stuff that's been dwindled down to a handful of products.
There's ALWAYS. Stuff people leave laying there. Usually, it doesn't bother me. Someone will set down a box of Cheerios and there will be a few slightly smushed boxes of similar cereals. I can't blame them for walking all the way back.
But someone made and left a freaking SALAD there last week. They apparently took their time at the salad bar and then decided against it.
I found a jug of milk at one once, another time I found a jug in the cereal aisle.
And on occassion I found meat laying around, including some clams some yahoo hid behind some boxes I guess to stink up the store. My friend was working there that day, so I altered him of it.

Don't get me started. I've got lots of grocery store tales in my 6+ years. Customers really can suck. Can't count how many times I've seen meat hidden behind boxes and cans because customers are too lazy to put them back.
