www.imdb.com/title/tt0968747/Seriously, what's the point of adapting a game that got rather disappointing reviews after such a huge hype. Heck, in many reviews I've read, the game didn't even get the pass mark. I mean, usually, the games that are being adapted are at least popular ones, that got several successful sequels and remained loved through the years. Here, we have a game that has no sequel, that was not so sucessful, and which on top of that has a bad reputation because of this Gamespot fiasco (OK, I'll admit it's not the game's fault, but I doubt it matters to the average gamer/moviegoer). I just... don't get what they're expecting here.

I guess because the story was pretty cool? Honestly, I dunno.
I liked K&L a lot, but yeah, it definitely wasn't particularly successful.

Well first off Ssnake, you mean Gamespot, not GameStop. Secondly, if they really go through with this, they NEED to get The Undertaker.

Well first off Ssnake, you mean Gamespot, not GameStop. I blame this typo on Jack Thompson.

The game got bad reveiws due to bad gameplay and glitches, not the concept of the story. I actually think it could make a good crime-thriller.

As has been pointed out. The gameplay was rubbish but the story had potential.

I'm a little surprised by this, I mean it wasn't that successful...alot of people I know have never played it or even heard of it. On another note has there ever actually been a good film based on a video game? Only one which I found decent was Advent Children...

Well, the story sounds like a bit of Reservoir Dogs and Bandits. Seems like it would be a good movie.
It's kinda like how Destroy All Humans! wasn't a really good game, but the story and comedy was good enough that they wanted to make a TV show out of it.

I just remember people talking about the game not really being on the same level as the story or the comedy.

I still maintain Streetfighter is entertaining And Hitman wasn't too bad either Does Resident Evil : Degeneration count I think Resident Evil: Degeneration counts because it was more based on the game than the other three. Eh. Bloodrayne got a movie, too. Not only that, but they made 2 sequels. Thank you, Uwe Boll. First he takes a game about a vampire killing nazis (I think that's what it was about) and sets one in medieval times, one in the old west, and who knows when the third one will be set. They claim WWII, but who knows with Mr. Boll.

I still say the Resident Evil movies were good.
Well, the first movie was just alright, the second one was awesome and the third one was decent. And they're all fun to watch with friends.

I liked the Resident Evil movies too, but I'm not a big gamer, so I'm not sure if my opinion counts.

I liked the Resident Evil movies too, but I'm not a big gamer, so I'm not sure if my opinion counts. Of course it does. Your experience with the games does not interfere with your opinion of their movie adaptations, in my opinion (BTW, I don't know much about the RE series either, I've only played Survivor and a bit of the first game). Which reminds me of Silent Hill. I'm a huge fan and I loved it, and I went to see it with a friend who never played the games, and he loved it too. So obviously knowing the games or not doesn't matter a lot.
