They do not have ANY faith in their QB to just thow it away if no one is open? They expect him to throw a INT every down?

They expect him to throw a INT every down? exactly, I know. The announce team puts it over as Baltimore "being conservative" with their play calling, but in my book, running on 3rd and 14 expecting a first down is a much bigger risk. and penalties ahoy! |

What I don't get is why a good chunk of coaches will:
- On 3rd & Long call for a run play
and
- On 3rd & short call for a pass play
Especially when the team has a good 3rd & long QB or a good 3rd & short RB.
