I remember letting the masses know that the Lakers were my second team behind the Nets. And it's only been like that for eight or nine years now. But I'll let that condescending comment slide knowing you're a Cowboy fan living in Massachusetts. ;D Ugh, multiple favorite teams. Whatever happened to picking one team and rooting for one team only? When Jersey plays LA, do you hope for a good clean game where everyone plays well? And yeah, I must be a bandwagon Cowboys fan. Lord knows I'm only rooting for them because of the wonderful success they've had recently

I always just assumed you were a Patriots fan since you support the other Boston teams. I learned something.

I'm from the area, I hear about the players all the time from the local paper/TV channels, I could hold my own in a conversation about them. But no, that's not how I roll. I like to jump on the bandwagon of a team that hasn't won a playoff game in 12 years and is hated and laughed at by virtually the entire nation. Unorthodox? Yes. But when they eventually do win a playoff game again (hopefully before I grow too old to stop caring), I can say I've been there all along. It's painful now, but I gotta stay two steps ahead of everyone ;D

Then you'll also be able to point to your temple a couple times to indicate how smart you are to the crowd, Insomniac.

About seven years ago, the Lakers played the Nets in the Finals. I rooted for the Nets with a grave notion of what was going to happen. And since those teams see each other twice a season, it doesn't make much of a difference. And yeah, I must be a bandwagon Cowboys fan. Lord knows I'm only rooting for them because of the wonderful success they've had recently Recently? No. 15-20 years ago? Precisely! Which is why there are Cowboy fans in the city, a good portion of Jersey, and just about everywhere else in the continental United States. I mean, the whole 'America's Team' BS didn't pull you in, did it? ;D

And since those teams see each other twice a season, it doesn't make much of a difference. Surprised you didn't root for a tie so that both teams could split the trophy I can't help but find rooting for multiple teams in the same sport to be ridiculous. There needs to be a law against this kind of thing. If you root for two teams, where does it end? Why not pick up a third or fourth team to follow? Just increase your chances of rooting for a championship team. It doesn't make sense to me and never has. My father became a Cowboys fan when he was a teenager. I followed in his footsteps and started rooting for them around 1991 or so (as early as I can remember following the game). If that makes me a bandwagon fan, then I don't know what to say. I,too, would like to see my NFL team win a playoff game before I get too old. But I'm a Lions fan so I'm not holding my breath. You might wanna aim your sights low. Like ending world hunger, or landing a man on Mars.

What about in a sport where there is a pretty defined difference between the confrences/leagues though Insomniac? Like baseball with the AL and NL?

The Associated Press named Drew Brees 2008 Offensive Player of the Year. He received 22 votes, while Peyton Manning and Adrian Peterson tied for second with nine.

What about in a sport where there is a pretty defined difference between the confrences/leagues though Insomniac? Like baseball with the AL and NL? What happens if both teams reach the World Series and face one another? There was a guy that posted around here that was a Red Sox fan, but had moved to Colorado and adopted the Rockies as his NL team. In this situation, no matter what happens, you "win". You won't feel the pain and agony of having a team lose in the championship series. Instead, you get to feel the joy and jubilation of having a team win it all. I'm of the belief that you pick one team per sports and invest all your sports-related emotions into that team. No second team, no third team, no team that you root for because "Player X" is cool, no team that you root for because their jerseys are nice. It's not the same if you have a team that misses out on the playoffs, but everything is alright because your second team is still alive. I just don't get it, never really will.

Gus Frerotte told Yahoo's Michael Silver following Sunday's playoff loss to Philadelphia that he felt he should've played over Tarvaris Jackson. And I agree with him. After all, he's the one that saved their season. Did you actually see any games Gus played in throughout the season? I don't always let stats into arguments, but Frerotte had 15 interceptions to 12 touchdowns throughout his starting gig. He was a sitting duck throughout those games, 'leading' the Vikes to victory by having his defense constantly bail him out and handing off to the likes of Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor. That team won in spite, not because of, him. Not that Jackson is anything special himself, but you insert Gus in Sunday's game, and it would have been an outright slaughter.

I'll always stand by that opinion. Gus at least was doing the most important stat right, winning.
