Too late...I'm done. I also pulled out a vicious in-grown toenail.
I'd show pictures, but I'm sure you'd all hurl or something.

Always trim your toe nails straight (well, as straight as you can as all teh clippers I've seen curve) if you don't. I got an ingrown toe nail like two-three times in middle school until a doctor told me to do that.

Always trim your toe nails straight (well, as straight as you can as all teh clippers I've seen curve) if you don't. I got an ingrown toe nail like two-three times in middle school until a doctor told me to do that. Way ahead of you on that one. The problem here arose when I wasn't wearing my boots and dropped a case of beer on my toe a few weeks ago. It split a little and I had to trim the corner off. Sure enough, it got ingrown, and me, having dealt with ingrowns for the better part of 15 years, ignored it in favor of partying through the holidays. I decided today that, since I'm going to be walking a couple miles a day again when work starts up, I better get it cut out. It was on the edge of infection, so a soak in soapy water, a trim, and a yank with tweezers left me feeling a lot better. I'll soak it again this afternoon to make sure it holds off infection, and probably add a bit of antibiotic salve when I head for bed. I've been through viciously infected ones (mostly due to poor fitting dress shoes from my speech/debate days, since my mom didn't think that she'd buy me a good pair of Oxfords until she saw that I'd actually wear them enough), and it's not something I wish on anyone.

My three toenail surgeries are the three most painful experiences of my life. Even worse than dislocating my knee. Honestly. Those injections are excruciating and you have to have 7-10 in each toe.
