No Dammit!
Vince threw a fit, spat in his face, and slammed the door.
Vince is evil. Vince isn't cool. Vince doesn't have it. Vince is everything you should hate.
Apparently.

Man, sometimes people really get an inch and take a mile around here when we get some of these reports. There's not much information in this report other than that Vince requested a private screening of the film and apparently didn't like it. Anything else is total conjecture. But TEH WWE IS TEH SUCKORZZZZ! Obviously Vince is an evil madman in the same vein as Dr. Claw or something and sits around thinking up ways to ruin the smark dreams. At least that's what some people seem to think.

Vince doesn't like anything he wasn't responsible for, wrestling or otherwise.

"Damnit Darren, there's no such thing as wrestling shows in school gyms, light-tubes being used as weapons, or the Necro Butcher! YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUR'E FIRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRED!!!" I don't know why, but that just gave me the greatest image in my head for some reason. *Jimmy Jacobs sitting in the corner, in the fetal position* There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher. There's no such thing as Necro Butcher.

This is one of those many stories about Vince where you say "This is definitely newz meant to paint Vince as someone who's out of touch and wouldn't know good if it bit him in the ass." But then there's another part of you that immediately follows with "So it's probably true."

Well lets see now-the movie portrays the wrecked life of an ex-wrestling superstar who wasted all his money on sex, drugs, and partying, and who is reduced to wrestling in high school gyms for a living while his body is falling apart after decades of abuse.
And Vince is trying to combat the image that WWE is uncaring and ungrateful to its ex-champions and allows the wrestlers to screw their bodies up to no end all in the name of ticket sales and ratings.
I can see no reason why he wouldn't have loved it.

I wonder if Vince shouted at Darren "GIT, GIT, GIT!" <~~~~~ See my avatar. I thought The Wrestler would be great for professional wrestling. A powerful and great story, showing how wrestlers are more then just meatheads.

Maybe, Like me, Vince prefers wrestling movies in the vain of "Body slam" or Ready to rumble", true movie classics.

He couldn't just appreciate it for what it is...a really good film. Yet if god forbid someone tells you that you should just appreciate WWE for what it is...a really good product you'll go on a 37,000 word diatribe about how terrible WWE is, and how we should respect your opinions. Why are you allowed to have an opinion and Vince isn't?

Not surprising really, it doesn't sound like the kind of story Vince and his company want to be associated with, even though it depicts the reality of the business.

Just because it's getting acclaim doesn't mean you have to like it. There are a lot of critically praised movies that I don't like. He's allowed to have his opinions like anyone else. And this thread title is misleading. It didn't reveal his reaction, it said "well, we don't know for sure, but we're pretty sure it's negative!" Yeah, but is it really a stretch to think that he doesn't like it beacuse it shows The Ram's character to be a lot like Jake Roberts? It shows wrestlers are beat up and sick, and when people think of wrestling, they think of the WWF/E. Vince has to know these things happen, but nobody is blaming him for what these guys do after their careers are over. I think he took this movie as a dig at him. No, but that doesn't mean smarks aren't taking "he didn't like the movie" and use it to slam him for whatever means necessary. Rave reviews don't mean a person has to like it and "he didn't like it" doesn't mean he beat Arfonsky over the head with a chair and kicked a puppy on the way out. Really, unless your the multi-millionaire owner of a major multinational corporation, you can't get inside his head as easily as some people here seem to think. Multimillionaire or not, he has his right to his opinion like we all do. Yet some people seem to maintain that he doesn't get that right, or criticize him for actually forming one.

IF this is true, I'll be the first to admit that McMahon needs to shut the f*** up and deal with it, because it's something that's causing a good stir in tinseltown, all the while it's a project that's outside of McMahon's control. I know I'm coming off as obnoxious, but does Vince really think he has COMPLETE control over the wrestling industry?? Plus, it's only his opinion, and the movie is not representing Vince's precious WWE, which has done nothing to entertain fans in the last 6 plus years.

Ok, first of all...I never said Vince couldn't have an opinion. Jesus Christ, second...who here blames Vince for retired wrestlers pissing away their money and ending up a mess? Not me. Third, I said IF this is true, then he MIGHT have formed his opinion based on the movie being based on what he has done and no just on it being a movie that just happens to deal with wrestling. I wonder if he would feel the same way if it was about a football or hockey player.

People who aren't fans of wrestling view the WWE as synonyms with wrestling. So therefore whether its right or wrong, Vince does get blamed for everything bad that happens in wrestling, by the mainstream press. He knows this, so anything that portrays wrestling in a negative light, he's not gonna like. I can't blame him for that. Even if we know better, the public at large certainly doesn't.

He probably doesn't like it for it kind of exposes wrestling in a way and does put a negative light on former Wrestlers I hear no matter how big they were in the past which could hurt WWE's image. Plus WWE is trying to recover it's image from the Benoit fiasco of last year. Also didn't Vince enjoy Beyond the Mat and enjoyed Ready to Rumble for it was a fun movie?
I don't think he yelled at Darren maybe just expressed his opinion in a negative upset tone but seriously I'm sure Vince is alot more professional then that.
