I know there are some entry #s that never won, but it just seems number 3 has had some of the biggest longshots and worst entrants ever. It just seems it goes to guys that will not take away from the first two entrants.
Tom Brandi Mosh Simon Dean Daniel Puder Fake Razor Ramon Kenny Dykstra Golga Marty Jannety Papa Shango Chris Nowinski Eli Blu
Granted...guys like Matt Hardy, Valentine, Andre and Backlund have been #3 before...but there was no way they were taking it.
And Santino in 2008...well, I cant say anything bad about him. He's in a league of his own...haha.

Normally #3 is used as a jobber for #2 and #1, especially if 2 & 1 are main eventers.

Simon Dean was used for Rey and HHH to humiliate and eliminate in quick fashion.
The same applies to Puder back in 05.

We all know why jobbers are put in the Rumble....its just a conversation peice for the board..haha...wrestling fans can never get tired of dissecting rumble facts...

someone did like a study on this or something and i believe #14 (might be 13 not sure) has a curse on it as only one or two guys have even relatively been ok afterwords

Haha, I admit I was wrong. It's just, when I think number 30, I always think "Rikishi". Someone gets it, and they don't even stay in long.

Thanks, I was waiting for the right time to slip it in somewhere ;D
It's getting worrying how pretty much all of my posts these days are fad-related, so to contribute to the topic, yes #3 does appear to be unlucky, maybe Haas will get it in 2009?

Are there any numbers that have never won? Well, I guess there must be as there have not been 30 royal rumbles.

Well, I guess there must be as there have not been 30 royal rumbles. 1988 Jim Duggan 13 1989 Big John Studd 27 1990 Hulk Hogan 25 1991 Hulk Hogan 24 1992 Ric Flair 3 1993 Yokozuna 27 1994 Bret Hart/Lex Luger 27/23 1995 Shawn Michaels 1 1996 Shawn Michaels 18 1997 Steve Austin 5 1998 Steve Austin 24 1999 Vince McMahon 2 2000 The Rock 24 2001 Steve Austin 27 2002 Triple H 22 2003 Brock Lesnar 29 2004 Chris Benoit 1 2005 Batista 28 2006 Rey Mysterio 2 2007 The Undertaker 30 2008 John Cena 30 so... #4 hasn't #6-12 hasn't #14-17 hasn't #19-21 hasn't #26 hasn't someone could check this for me but i believe this is accurate EDIT: hah!! just noticed this WWE always went on about how Rey was the only person to win it from #2 but Mr. Mcmahon did too! he did it by cheating... but dammit he did it!

Since Royal Rumble has used 30 superstars (the ppv Rumbles), no one who drew anything from 6 to 17 has won. Pretty big whole there right in the middle.

It does seem like a bad number to draw.

Kane should start hearing voices again and get obsessed with drawing the number 23, like in that movie, I forgot what's it's called.

I always hated when Hogan, and later Lesnar, Batista, Cena, Taker, etc.... entered at #25 or later and won it. I know guys who enter late have a huge advantage, but to me it just cheapens the whole thing when a guy is in the ring for 10 minutes or less and wins it. This year I hope someone enters anywhere from #8-15 and wins it. They'd be in the ring for 35 mins or so, and it would seem like they earned the title shot at Mania. I mean, it's WrestlefreakinMania! Earn the main event title shot!
Back on topic, yeah #3 sucks except for Flair in 1992.
