How many are released in a normal year, for reference sake? I mean, if they release an average of 40 people a year, the economic woes would make it seem reasonable that they cut 20% or so more people the next year.

WOW, that is impressive. I know it's not the easiest decision, but it is a business that is trying to stay afloat. Luckily, where I work, we haven't had to that, but there have been other elements of the company I work for that have had to shorten hours drastically and change operations to cut costs.

I'll be damned if I can find FIVE people I wouldn't have released...
Seriously, with the exception of Flair and Foley, the rest is a who's who of top-notch lower-midcardness. A bunch of them could have worked as adequate filler, or even reached a decent midcard status. But not really worth the time/effort

Every time I see Elijah Burke's name on these lists, that "One of these things is not like the other...." song pops into my head. His release makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever. He had so much f***ing talent and they decided to just job him out to CM Punk every f***ing week of 2007, then just dump him in 2008. He was more talented than 80% of your roster, you f***ing idiots!!!! *takes a deep breath* I'm sorry, I'm a hardcore Burke supporter.

Don't get me wrong, I like Burke. I can't argue they NEEDED him or anything, though.

Don't get me wrong, I like Burke. I can't argue they NEEDED him or anything, though. They didn't need him, but he had so much more charisma and talent than most of their roster. Had they turned him face and kept putting a microphone in his hand, I guarantee the guy would have been selling T-shirts like crazy.

As I always ask when I see lists like this, but how many were hired? Since I like doing lists like this (and i should probably replace Brown with Adamle, saying he is pretty much gone), I'll look into that. For debuts, I guess we have this: Returns: -Cryme Tyme -Goldust -D'lo Brown -Tony Atlas -R-Truth -Tomko (signed in 08) -Ryan Reeves/Ryback (developmental) -Chris Cage (developmental) Call ups: Raw: -Dolph Ziggler/Nick Nemeth (returned from developmental) -Manu/Afa Jr. -Ted Dibiase -Rosa Mendes/Rouka Smackdown: -Ezekiel Jackson -Kizarny/Sinn Bowdee -Primo (originally on Raw) -Ryan Braddock/Jay Bradley -Scotty Goldman/Colt Cabana -Vladamir Kozlov -The Bella Twins -Natalya Neidhart ECW: -Bam Neely/Justin Laroche -DJ Gabriel/Jack Gabriel -Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal -Gavin Spears/Shawn Spears -Jack Swagger/Jake Hager -Paul Burchill (returned from developmental/originally on Raw) -Katie Lea Burchill (originally on Raw) -Ricky Ortiz/Atlas Da Bone -Alicia Fox (originally on Smackdown) -Tiffany Hired and Fired: -Colin Delaney -Braden Walker Referees: -Goose Mahoney -Kevin Kennan As for hired and put in developmental, I know of a few guys who were, but I'm also not sure who was in FCW before OVW got the boot. I'll try to guess, and maybe corrected -Andrew Vain -Black Pain -Brian Jossie -Byron Wilcott -Dakoda Darsow -David Otunga -Don Carsas Jr. -Gavin Garrison -Matt Walsh -Mike Hutter -Ian Richardson -Joe Hennig -Jon Culter -Kafu -Kris Logan -Phil Shatter -Taylor Rotunda -Trent Barreta -Tyler Reks -Tyson Tarver -Naofumi Yamamoto -Miss Angela -Wesly Holiday -Catalina White -Jenny Quinn -Priscilla Tuft That list is that I think may've been hired in 08. Most of the names I know weren't hired in 08 were those I recognized from OVW and DSW. With the exception of Colin Delaney and Braden Walker (who were fired), everyone who debuted on Raw, Smackdown or ECW had spent some time in developmental, and the person with the least time in developmental of that list if I'm correct was Evan Bourne, who debuted with OVW in late 07.

From the list of guys released above, I would have liked to see them keep (note: I'm not saying these guys were needed, more just personal favorites of mine I'd still like to see on RAW, SD or ECW):
Shannon Moore, Big Daddy V, Trevor Murdoch, Lance Cade, Elijah Burke, Paul London, Kenny Dykstra and Al Snow as a trainer.
Also, why was Barry Windham released. Was it a mutual decision, or did he do something wrong??

Well, after taking off Marcus Cor Von, as he was released in 07, I think we found wrestler number 56.
And yeah, I knew 3 chicks were hired, but I forgot their names. All I know is one of them is Tyler Reks's wife.
