This helps support my theory that Morrison and Miz are the " Sexy Meat and Potatoes" of WWE Programming.

The latter. This one is just focusing on TV. The other thread is everything.

Didn't Punk wrestle the most matches/have the most wins last year?

So for my complaints about how Mickie sometimes doesn't get used on RAW, she's in the Top 5 for matches and wins. And equal to Beth on both.

so Punk's actually the biggest winner in WWE. more than TRIPLE H! and people still say he's not used right.

Didn't Punk wrestle the most matches/have the most wins last year? As the person who did it last year...yes.

As the person who did it last year...yes. You did this last year? It's tough to keep up with, but interesting, nonetheless. It was insane. I'll find it and link it.

so Punk's actually the biggest winner in WWE. more than TRIPLE H! and people still say he's not used right. But he's also 5th highest for losses, he's just been in a lot more matches than Triple H on TV at least (when you include house shows Triple H's total is a lot higher). In fact on Raw in 2008, he won only 50% of his matches. I think it's just a case that while he's clearly over enough to be booked in a lot of matches, he's not booked to be dominant. But that's not always such a bad thing when you consider the mixed reception Triple H has gotten amongst the IWC over the years. Punk's position in the storylines of 2008 has generally as the plucky, chasing babyface, and even when he was world champion, he was the underdog trying to prove himself to rest of the established main eventers, so it's not uncommon for someone like that in traditional WWE booking to have an almost 50-50 record. As long as he remains high in the babyface hierarchy, he'll have ups and downs before triumphing over the heel foe in the end. On the other hand he may be the lower order babyface who the heel conquers to gain heat for a money match with a higher up babyface. Punk has probably played both roles at times this year, but mostly the former.

Punk has probably played both roles at times this year, but mostly the former. Yeah, this. I think most people (aside from those who genuinely believe he's being buried) would agree that creative book him pretty carefully to remain credible, but not dominant. I think they've learned from the backlash to the Supercena push that booking someone to constantly go over everyone - even if they were originally pretty over - backfires pretty quickly. They've been careful to protect Punk (look at how he dropped the title, for example) so as not to kill his credibility, and he's had some great matches this year, but they've by no means booked him as unbeatable; and I do think that's because they're wary of giving him a superpush. It'll be interesting to see where they go with him in 2009, though.
